The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Aigh, i'll post the stuff i made this year,
because i think it shoud be posted here, so many asked me...so i'll do.
The S-tube was made compleedly from stuff out of the hardware-shop.
EVA-foam, waterpipes with extreme diameters and ABS plastic.
Only the acrylic glass was a lucky hit at ebay...so, i got the glass and decided to build ub the tube,
as good as i can do, without plans or measurements, only pictures from ther movie and internet.
The sweet puppie inside is an unknowmn kit i shoot at ebay for small money.
The tube has some other edges as the original...but who cares :)
Here it is:

feel free to info me or critic :)
And for sure the tube is used by Basemental Props, my fangroup here in Germany.
Feel free to have a look at our ugly faces on Facebook ;)

Thanx for watching,
Cheers,

Excellent build and paint job!
Do you fill it with "water"?

not yet Frank, it's still not fit for filling.
Need to press it up with silicon.
maybe never in case of the weight :-)
maybe i am lucky and i find another aceylic tube,
a bit less of diameter, so i can put it inside the big one,
and fill THAT space with water :-)

Like seeing Frank's and your tube builds.

I remember on the RPF years ago, that I was hard to find a large diameter clear "cast" tube that didn't have the ridges of an
"extruded" tube in the US.

Were the clear tubes easy to get in Germany?

Easy yes, but incredible expansive ;)
sometimes u r lucky to find pieces on ebay.
when big companies produce 2 meter pieces, for example.. they sell them in that measurements.
sometimes they have 3 meter parts, and have an order for 10x 2 meter parts.
so they cut some 1 meter parts off and sell them seperatly as kind of B-Ware ...
that was kind of happening how i get mine.
if u ORDER a tube with wishing measurements....u cann sell your car :-(
i think i saw offers of 400-600 Euro for 1,5 meter parts. sure ,only with the diameters WE need here ;)

I would go for the tube inside a tube approach. This is less expensive and much safer.

Indeed tubes are easy to get at 200+ EUR if you want them water proofed for 70cm height.

With “water” inside that’s nice to have, but I doubt it would hold long until you need to change the “water”.
Anyway I really like your switch/controll build Pino. It makes it look so much more than “just” tubes.

Genial - but I would prefer a soft / venyl FACEHUGGER, and maybe real water in the tube ;D!
