The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hi
I have had this stored away for years in a cupboard in my shed, a few cobwebs, some dust but just dug it out.

I wondered if anyone recognises it or who made it, must be over 15 years old.

It could do with a good clean !

The way its sitting, part of the back of the neck has bent underneath, next time I take some photos I will bend this back again.

If anyone knows anything about this ???

Thanks

That's the Ressurrection style of head, and to me looks incredibly like a screen used one. Is there any cable or anything inside the neck?

I think I bought it of ebay, or might have demon internet, cant quite remember.
Came from a guy in Finchley, London.
I think I paid £100 for it.
Quite a while ago and my memory is not what it used to be.

My wife didnt like it in the house, so it got put in my large shed, out of the way.
I recently had a clearout of the shed and found my Sulaco floor tile and this Alien head.

I am starting up a business selling and making robot parts, kits etc and want to build a CNC machine.
You probably can see bits of the machine in the photo.
So decided that I am going to sell my Sulaco Tile and possibly this head to raise some money.

I have been speaking with the guys at The Prop store and they said they wont pay much more than £200 for the Tile.
I sent them pictures of this head, but they are yet to come back to me.

I just wondered if anyone has seen these before.

If and I mean IF, my memory serves me well :( , I did recall that there was a website with the Guy that made these.
I think he was somehow involved with the films and went off to make replicas, and good ones at that.
His name might have started with an 'H' ??

Anyway, had a search on the internet and cant find anything.

The head is a bid damaged, has some scratches, some of the latex has come away and there is a 'Inside Jaw' that is supposed to be fixed in position but that has come off, just needs sticking back.

Needs a good clean, and a bit of TLC and it will look pretty good.
I have no idea what the value of something like this now.

Hope that answers a few questions.

Harry has been very good to me and helped me out with details on the Sulaco floor tile.

I have found his old website: http://www.brucehansing.com
However, it no longer exists, but thanks to the Wayback machine, there was a little bit around early 2003

The page has a date of Feb 15, 2001

Heres some text:

Quote:
Bruce Hansing's past projects are many and varied. Below are details and images of a few examples.
Perhaps one of the best known examples of his work is with the frighteningly realistic 'Queen Alien' and its 'Alien henchmen' from the hit movie 'Aliens'. The original - as featured in 'Alien' was created by Swiss surrealist H.R.Geiger. Bruce travelled to Zurich in 1998 to work furthur with Geiger, both with these moulds and in other projects. Another well known piece was the costume for the metal law enforcer - 'Robocop' as featured in the first movie... This suit was constructed - not from titanium as the film would lead you to believe - but from slightly less bullet-proof, GRP (or fibreglass).

This material is used extensively in Bruce's work, along with professional airbrushing techniques that he employs to give the look and texture of skin, scales ...or even metal!
The scale of the work that Bruce undertakes varies according to the brief, and some of the most impressive pieces are the smaller ones - such as the implements of torture featured in the recent 'Bond movie' - 'Tomorrow never dies'.

As you can see, the work displayed here are all items that are of excellent close-up quality, and more than ideal for use on film.

...After all, why spend money on a prop that is so poor, you're forced to blur the shot...?

Hi Bugz

Yes the neck is fine
Its just the way it was resting,
Will do some more photos soon, try and give it a bit of a clean first.

Every time I look at it, its a bit unnerving, it does look so organic, its a great design.

I never realised that this one was made from a 1:1 cast of a real Alien head and that Bruce Hansing worked alongside Giger in making them.

I suppose you cant get much closer to a real alien head then this one.
