Quote's from a different military sci-fi, but I hope it applies :P

I've been looking for the odds and bobs to put onto a set of Hicks armour. Still looking for the lock, but I did manage to find the lighter off eBay.

It's a little beat up, but it'll do the job. Though how do I attach it to the armour? I swear in some shots it looks like it's taped on to the webbing.

Be seeing you,

Magnus Darcrider

If I remember correctly, it is wrapped around the grenade strap with tape,

and maybe the snap hook through a hole in the armor on Remar???

Here's a close-up of Hicks in armour early on during production with James Remar...

The leather pouch is clearly taped to the right-side grenade strap and the snap hook is hanging from a hole drilled in the upper armour strapping.

I believe when Michael Biehn took over from Remar, he simply kept it taped to the grenade strap and did not use the snap hook so in most scenes the snap hook is just hanging there, loose.

Looks like good ol' black duct tape too. :)

Yes I have the same lighter too and I did not want to use black Electrical tape as tape is messy after a while.

I got some black Elastic Shoulder Strap 15mm wide by 1.5 meters long made by Hamline and stitched up a holder for the leather pouch. Looks good and does the job well. You can get the packet on e-bay.

You can also get some black PVC tape, no adhesive, but sticks to itself. Plumbing shops should have a 3/4" version, and a duct-tape sized version can be found at an "adult" store.

I would want to guess black friction tape... But you guys be the experts.

Just seems something a bit more "military" in nature, as in things we have lying around that we can use for things than what they were intended for :D

They used that black tape a lot. Hicks also uses it to attach his knife to his other grenade strap.

Gaffer's tape, maybe?

Hey Magnus,

My best advice if you want to attach it is to use electrical tape. Gaffa tape will just tear the thing apart and reck the leather. But so will electrical tape. Leather needs to breath remember. But in this case it's just a Screen Accurate prop.

So, since yours is in neat condition. I would go ahead with electrical tape. If not find some sort of pants elastic liner and use that. Will keep it in place and not destroy the leather.

As for the lock. IMHO, you won't find a screen accurate one. A simple lock from a cracker will do. If not, ASDA do am excellent heavy duty one and it is also the same that Terry has put on mine.

Here are some picture of my Terry English Armour. Enjoy

If need any more information on the armour. Please let me know.

Even if using 'official' USCM gaffers tape in Brown Bess from the Weyland-Yutani company store? ;)

Honestly, if we're going for screen accuracy -- I'd have to say black electricians tape.

But if we've got nice stuff and/or we'd rather do things 'real-world', then I most definitely say go with the wide elastic band. Any reputable gun store will carry them (usually in black), and most good military surplus shops carry the O.D. ones which are quite nice! 8)

Hey Vito! VERY nice photos of your TE armour! I am lovin' it!

Vito,
I thought that the USCM pistol belt had a plastic quick release snap, similar to those on the grenade straps?
