The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Ok I know the whole thing about re-casting. I've been collecting replica props and horror masks for years upon years.

Anyway on to my point.
As you may or may not know I have bought a pulse rife and the magazine is removable. It's a full size/length magazine.
the pulse I have has no LED display, but I've ordered one from spats. Obviously there's no room in the chamber for a sold resin magazine and the LED and batteries so I'll be needing a short or dummy mag.
So if I was to somehow 'recast' the mag that came with my pulse so I can make it very short - maybe 1/3 of the size, would that be possible to do out of paper covered and filled with resin?
Maybe you have ideas of your own.
Oh and I'm not gonna just cut the mag I have down to size. I'll keep that as a spare.

You could also just order a Spare Magazine kit from me!

But wouldn't it also be a full length one? Also are all mags the same dimensions?
Also I looked on your site and I could have sworn it said the mags are for display only, or are you saying to cut the one I have and then buy a spare from you? If so, I could do that, but would it delay my order further?

You could always just cut the magazine down to the size you need,m so you don't need to cast anything.

As for your other order, right now you're just waiting on the Welder and the IR Sight. All the rest of your gear is done. I should cast up the Welder and wire up the LEDs tomorrow. So if you did want to add anything, do it quick! I'll probably ship your gear by Wednesday.

Do you want the short mag to stay in the PR, or be able to pull out of the PR and look approximately the right length?

Either way, you'd need to know whether Spat's mag would fit inside your PR mag well, short or not.

OK I've tried to order one, but it added $20 for shipping. Should I complete the order?

Spat can re-imburse any over-payment of shipping, as he's done it for me in the past.

Ok order placed. I'll cut mine down. Put a little strip of velcro on the mag so it'll stay in. I won't need to pull it out but I don't want to glue it as I'd need to change the batteries.
Cheers.

I would suggest rare Earth magnets instead of Velcro.

My first thought was that, but I'm not sure if I could get some the correct shape. Once I get everything sanded and I get the LED installed I'll know exactly how much room I have.
Thanks for the suggestion though.

You could site them like they are in the HCG PR, where there's one in the bottom of the mag well and one on the inside surface of the mag base.

See this pic:

the magnet's where the contact springs are on the bottom of the mag.
