The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Thanks for posting Willie. My skin tone is slightly green right now. Lottery's on tonight, you never know I might fly over after I collect my winnings :)

Cool, are you going along Willie?

It's good to read that the audience will be watching a newly struck print. At the Somerset House outdoor screening of Aliens earlier this year ('06) we knew the print was pretty scratched up but it wasn't until the dropship flies away from the explosion on LV426 at the end of the film that we realised just how bad it was.

At the pinnacle of the blast the screen is supposed to white out, but on that print it looked almost black due to the amount of dirt & scratches on it. :(

For $5 admission…..

Very cool to once again see a super clean strike on the big screen with the sound digitally encoded from the original 70mm / 6 track magnetic tracks. It was outstanding!

Those in attendance for the onstage panel discussion:

Alec Gillis
Shane Mahan
Pat McClung
John Rosengrant
Dennis Skotak
Robert Skotak
Tom Woodruff Jr.

And hosted by Gale Anne Hurd

I even had my pulse rifle sling signed by Carrie Henn and Jenette Goldstein!

All of this took place on the very day AVP-2 wrapped.

I attended the screening Friday night as well. It was great seeing a new print w/ new sound on the big screen again! My friend John and I had a very good time.

I managed to snap one photo of 2 Stan Winston maquettes on display in the lobby before being asked to stop, "No photos please!"

The other was the 1:1 sideshow alien head.

Funny how it was so much more glossy...like they gave it additional clear coats. Mine is nowhere near as shiny. Also, the paint is even different around the mouth and ligaments.

I'm sure it is the display piece used to promote and for all of the ads.
