I love Blade Runner and I love Alien, but I'm really not sure how I feel about combining them into one narrative universe. Kind of like the Weyland-Yutani logo at the start of Firefly. What are we supposed to do with that when the rest of the series is clearly at odds with the Aliens universe? At least in this case they're acknowledging that Replicants and Androids are completely different forms of synthetic life; that was my single biggest hang up.

yeah but replicants have been outlawed so why not have androids take their place? Androids would be a logical replacement to tempermental semi-psychotic replicants off world as well.

Yeah...I've participated in several discussions about this over the years at AXP/Galaxy and I don't agree at all that the two universes are one.
