Just got back from Leicester for the first day of the SciFi Weekend. I'll let other people write reports and tell you how it went, but just wanted to post one photo before bed.

This was taken just after the first Aliens Q&A. Sorry I can't name everybody - but the three in the middle are Terry English, Al Matthews, and Harry Harris - who seemed to have brought his entire collection and cheese. :)

Just got back from Day 1.

The Alien Encounter show is going REALLY well, we're scaring the living daylights out of people.

I've no pics as I was in costume (Alien) all day, but loads were taken and Video too so there's bound to be lots posted

If someone can, it would be really cool if during one of the occasions it's going on, if the entire Alien Encounter experience was filmed from the beginning of the walkthrough, to the end. And then someone should upload it. :) And then the rest of us poor saps who can't be there can live vicariously through you. ;)

I'm so sorry I couldn't make it there this weekend. Looks like you guys had a blast.

I'm glad we were able to get everyone armored up in itme, big thanks to Geordi for that.

I hope you guys saved some good swag for me! Just bring it to DragonCon with you!

And did Terry English have any comments about the costumes? I'm really curious.

Guys,

We had a professional film crew there to record the AE event. They must have done at least three run throughs as well as a lot of extra footage (Alien, Marine close-up's, effects shots etc. etc.) so I am expecting something REALLY impressive when its edited with sound/music etc.!

Fantastic weekend all round. Three cheers for Harry, Malika and the the entrie crew of people for putting it together.

Also a huge round of appaulse for all those in the Alien Encounter for putting on such a fantastic show, and especially the bugs who work their tails off!

Will write something up and post some pics, but first I need some sleep...

Al was great - he gave me some tips for breaking in my boots, which judging by the damage done to my feet I need to do badly!! Lovely chap when I spoke to him, shame I didn't get to buy him a drink.
