Hey all

I've placed my order for the above kit and the king arms M1A1. What I'm wondering is what else will I need. I know the battery will have to be placed in a diffrent area of the gun but wonder which battery is best suited and placement. Also I know I'll need a sling but unsure who is producing them. I've seen on ebay but would prefer if it was one of the AL gguys pockets I was filling instead of someone who is not trusted.

Also who produces the mounting clips as I know they are not on the kit or is it a trip to my diy store for that and if so can anyone point me in the direction of what is needed.

Last but not least who's producing the M40 grenades as I'll be replacing the hidious shotgun shell. What were they thinking puting that in there.

Cheers

Noble is the man to speak to about slings.

You'll need a stick type battery, it fits in the grenade launcher.

This type : http://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/g ... ry-type-07

Cant really help with sling mounts, mine's using fabric parts that came with a 3 point sling. Cheap solution would be to put key ring style rings in the front and stock vents. Other than that you could fabricate sling mounts or replace the front triangle and stock with more accurate pieces (although the light gate for the counter sits in the front triange, so you would either have to mod the triangle/gate or do without the countdown.

Another question. The m1*1 I'm getting is the king arms one. Is the mag in that too long or can you convert to short? I've not heard anyone do a king arms m1a1 so intrested about the final build compaired to the cyma and TM ones

Depends.
Most chaps go with the Marui 190 rnd mags.

I don't need airsoft capabilities, so I use real 20rnd Thompson magazines, with the receiver slot milled out a touch to accept the guide rail.

The Thompson will require a new clip if you want to convert it to a PR magazine. Otherwise the standard thomopson mag is Too long

What about the kins mid mag does that fit or does it have to be the short as I can only find the TM mags that are short.

It has to be short. Its not the capacity of the mag its the actual physical size of the magazine. From what i can see of pics, the KA mids are full size.

Noble did make runs of mag bases with cut-outs to enable full size magazines to be used (the bottom of the mag protudes from the PR mag base), to make the kit a bit more skirmishable.

With the G&P kit, you will be able to attach the mag base without a mag in place, if your just looking for a display option, however, unless you tape down (or otherwise) the magazine switch, the counter will read 00 instead of 95.

Oi!

I resemble that remark!

With my G&P kit, the instructions actually gave the type of stick battery needed (linked above anyway). :)

I just clipped the sling though one of the holes in the stock and front vent, but a better idea would be to use a small diameter (but heavy duty) keyring clip ring. :)

You don't HAVE to go with the short mags. I custom built a Mag Cover with a hole in the bottom so I can slide my mags in and out without having to remove the cover all the time. The longer mags work better for this method since they stick out and you can grab onto them.

For show, you can just go without a Mag In and it looks fine. When using it for Airsoft, having the Magazine stick out doesn't cause too much of an eyesore for me personally.

PM me about slings. I can fit you in on the current run.

What mounting clips are you talking about?

I make a mag insert kit + complete mag replacement that use the short 190 round mags.

As for M40 grenades, several vendors in the past.

Spat currently makes resin ones.

Tommin makes aluminum ones.

SD studios did a recent run, he may have some left over.

DATA here also makes some excellent fully functioning M40 grenades, sprung plunger, the whole bit.

If he was allowed, I'm sure he'd make ones that explode, too!!

here's what i have done.

Complete mag replacement:
Image
Good for skirmishing, and having multiple mags. (I use 5)
Access at the bottom for winder.

Mag insert kit:
Image
interfaces with the G+P for a permanent mount of the mag.

Rare long mag replacement.

I made 8 of these awhile ago for the standard mags. Sold them all and cut out winder access, so you could use them as saw mags.
