The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

So I'm in the final stages of assembling my Spulse/metal parts hybrid. However, I've encountered a small snag. I've got a lovely SD Studios metal barrel, vent and triangle to use. But, when I've sprayed the barrel, it won't fit through the triangle (at least not without scraping half the paint off) - I even tried lubricating it, to no effect. Obviously, painting it in-place isn't very practical, so what the hell do I do?

Is the triangle the one that's at the front end of the barrel?

If so, can't you paint most of the barrel, then slide the front end through the triangle and paint that exposed end after?

Yeah, that's the triangle.

I did consider what you suggested, but I've bolted the triangle down through the grenade launcher and, due to the way in which I've done it, it wouldn't be possible to re-bolt it with the barrel in place.
I'm now thinking about cutting through the bottom part of the ring that holds the barrel in the triangle so it's not as tight. I don't think it'll affect anything, and it shouldn't be visible.

Double posting, sorry.

I cut through the ring to take some of the pressure off, and now the painted barrel slides in nicely! job done!
