The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Thought i'd share pics of my latest project.
Its obviously the Egg. I sculpted it a few weeks ago, made a mold of it and cast it in resin.Made to put a "push-lite" under. Its 8 inches tall.
Gonna paint one up soon, should look pretty cool with a green/tan paint scheme and lite coming through.

Don't forget that any sales must take place in the Base PX section, and please read the PX Rules too.

Thanks,

Harry

No problem Skipjenn - here's why (taken from the PX rules):

Quote:
0.2 Why am I unable to post here?
New users must make a certain number of genuine posts in other sections of The Aliens Legacy
before they are able to post replies to The Base PX.

Single line spam posts (Example: "Me too," "Yeah." etc.) just to inflate your post count will
not be tolerated, won't help you and will likely be deleted.

Only established users who have been a member of the community for a length of time are
permitted to make new topics in The Base PX. If you are only here to sell stuff and not
contribute to the group through the sharing of information or general chat in the community,
you might be better served to choose eBay.

Thanks very much, Ive got a commision to do a finished egg and a bunch of others are starting to paint theres as well. Its a neat project,a blank canvas if you will. cause there is no right or wrong paint scheme.
Ill post more pics of the paint ups as they happen. just a fun lil item ,which is why i did it.

Sorry for sounding thick (shut up at the back!), but what's a push-lite?

not a bad question at all,
its a light you can mount on a wall in a closet,or under a cabinet.you just "push" the big face of the light.they look like this.
Image

if you take it apart its a nice base and a really bright light.much brighter than any kind of LED would be.plus they sell these at the dollar store so extremely inexpensive.
Image

the base was sculpted right over the base, and the switch is actually hidden amongst the rocks.
Image

all i do is drill out that little switch and the real one sits right in there.
Image

even painted there should be a nice glow coming from inside.Im finally gonna paint one this week and mount it on a nice wood base. if it turns out well i will post pics.

i decided to take this project a little further and make an Alien egg display with a clear egg and a chestburster inside.
I ordered some opaque resin and tried it out.
Image
it worked pretty well, you can see through it but its not totally clear.
Image

next part of the project was to sculpt a mini chestburster. since the egg will be painted and the lil chestburster wont be totally visible i didnt spend a ton of time on details. ill make the mold for this and when the resin is still warm i can take it out and curl it into the balled up position for it to fit inside the egg.
Image
Image

just a fun project, still planning to mount this egg on a nice wooden base and add sand and paint it up to be pretty realistic.

I like that translucent version! And the chestbuster, can we get a better look at it? Did you sculpt it yourself?

That's a Face-Hugger, not a Chest-Burster.

You sir, lose one internet point.

Take away 2 points and slap me with a wet noodle. Doh!!!

Sorry,face hugger. wasn't watching what I typed.

Don't have any other pics. The little guy is coated in latex mold at the moment. I'll likely finish that mold tomorrow and make a test-hugger right away
Ill post a pic. I'm hoping that when lit and painted the Thing looks real inside there. Well see.
