The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hello

Had some time today and came up with a new design for my grenade launcher inner workings. Just making it so the pump grip moves back and forth and so it looks like the bolt moves back and forth. Using a peice of aluminum tubing for ths bolt. stripped down a cheap airsoft shottie that was just a donor gun. Stripped off The outer shell and using that as my 870. Heres what ive done....I bent a peice of metal in a u shape. Cut a track the length of the peice of metal attached two screws with washers from underneath. This allows the aluminum tube to slide back and forth. The tube is attached to a peice of metal bar stock. This will be attached to the pump handle later.

Just a thought, but could you have a longer piece of tube and cut the ejection hole out of it?

So when you pull the pump grip back, the hole in the tube lines up with the holes in the shotgun and Spas cage.

Does that make sense?

I suppose you could do it that way, but im working with a airsoft spas( waiting for a reasonably priced spas that will fit my budget) so im not sure about strength and support just connecting a single tube to the pump handle. Might work on a metal spas, more strength. But for what im doing i think this will work pretty good. As with anything im doing so far it remains to be seen. Need to make a bracket to connect the rod to the pump handle next.

I'm not 100% sure on this, but afaik only the TM-SPAS is full size. All other versions seem to be scaled down quite a bit.

Cheers,
Stefan

Not sure if we are on the same page re my suggestion?

All I mean is keep everything as you have done (brackets/support etc.), but just have a longer piece of tube than you now have, with said hole cut out.

Apologies if I'm barking up the wrong tree, and my suggestion wouldn't work with your design.

Martin

Im allways open to new suggestions when it comes to constructing this kind of stuff. I get what u are saying about the pipe. If I hadnt allready started this new design i would try your suggestion. I have a question dont know if you can answer or not. The shrouds I have are very thin and im thinking of using fiberglass resin and cloth to reinforce them. Has anyone done this and how did it work out?
