The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Greetings all...long time

FYI there is a Nostromo Jacket for sale on eBay. This is not mine though its one of my most "wanted" ALIEN items. I haven't seen one listed for sale in a long time. I'll have to wait for a bonus to afford it.

So I thought maybe someone here might be interested.

cheers,

Hi Dg

Good to see you back!

What my moustachioed friend means is that we have a rule about posting active eBay auctions. To save bidding wars and bad feeling (and inflated prices) it is one of the AL rules to only post auctions that are finished, or those that are thought to be dodgey as a warning to others.

Sorry about this - I've edited out the link.

You're also allowed to post links to your own auctions.

That would look good on me! :D

From the ads for the jacket on the back covers or from inside of the old Warren publications. I always thought they were a "slate" blue? It may have been the photography.

I agree the lacing is much better on the jacket in your pic. I still would like to see an original from one of those ads.

One day!

cheers

Yeah, British MKII flight jackets. The lacing is not SA, but from a more attainable Chinese pressure suit. Of course, since something like 6-8 of us all have it we're consistent. The lettering on the back is from a stencil Mike Rush made (may still be available on his site), and the patches (and pins) are from patches n' pins. Add some piping to the collar and you're in business. The uniforms are modified off the rack shirt & pants, with lots of things added. Of note, the blue shirt in the photo is from Magnoli.

Here's some of the crew at Dcon 2010

And some more of the crew at Farpoint 2010.

Praise from a fellow prop/costume fan is always great, so this was a truly golden moment for me.

@Darwinsgirl- No, I did them for some of the people in our group but that was about the end of it. It's actually pretty easy to put together, and can be done for around $150-$200 depending on what you pay for the components.

@Mantroon- I have a file for the cover it, although I'm not sure where I got it originally. I've yet to print it out, but it would make a good slip cover to put on a convention program or just a clever thing to carry around with the costume.

Possibly from me, as we identified it and then I bought one. :D

Thanks for responding :D ...I'll look into this in the future. As they rarely come up for sale.

Last winter I bought a Vietnam Era N2B Flight Parka from eBay for my Ripley Alien 3 outfit. Great for penal colonies or

midwestern winters

cheers
