The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Greetings all,
I'm Grant ....also from Australia.
I'm a huge Aliens fan and in fact it is my favourite film of all time.
I am a member of the 501st and enjoy the whole costume/prop building thing (S.W.A.T., Star Wars, Resident Evil, Pirates etc) and now a group of us down under are getting into the USCM thing and I am looking forward to it big time!
A few of the guys have already joined up on here and I imagine the rest will soon report in for duty also.
I've ordered a Pulse rife kit as a starting point and can't wait for it to arrive so I can get started on it.
Anyway that's me and I look forward to chatting to you and hopefully meeting some of you soon.
Cheers,
Grant.

hi all, i have been lurking here for a while and i have taken the plunge and just joined so i thought i'd better introduce myself, my name is Graham, Gray to most, Gunny to my friends, i'm from south london but i now live near peterborough, i have been doing vietnam re enactment with the AIPS for around 20 years so not new to wearing jungle boots and an M1 helmet! in the group we recreate an army unit or a marine unit, my rank is senior nco so its staff or gunnery sargent hence the nickname! i have loved the Aliens franchise since i first saw Aliens back in '86, i have just gotten a complete colonial marine costume which has been a want for a long time! and running around the woods dressed as a grunt and age is starting to take its toll on me so i thought dressing up and hanging around at a show could be alot more relaxing!! I have fired pretty much every modern weapon you can think of incuding a thompson and a 870 so i guess i could say i've fired a pulse rifle! i've also done various film and tv work mainly as a military extra but i have been the lead in some recreated footage for a documentary for channel 4/discovery where i eventually get shot through a tree! i hope i get to meet many of you in the future, here are a couple of shots of me as a grunt at the war and peace show, maybe i can get a few of me in the uscm kit one day!!

Welcome aboard to all the New Grunts.

@Gunny so were your torn off sleeves inspired by Corporal Hicks or Sergeant Zeke Anderson? ;-)

inspired by reality actually, i found a personal account of a guy who was in nam in 69/70 who was talking about how his unit dressed, most wore cut down jackets and had strings of beads threaded around helmet bands etc, so was just trying a diffirent 'look' the collar was also removed.................................................. and i hated 'tour of duty' !!!

Hi! I'm Lauren, though I also go by Lorelei online. I met several of the UKCM and a couple of the USCM at Dragon*Con last year and after being bugged at various points over the last 9 months by Aaron, Lucas, and Scapey to join the forums I finally have.

I was first exposed to Alien by my mom when we would watch sci-fi and horror movies while my dad was out of town for business. I've always thought it was a fantastically creepy movie.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at this year's Con!

Guess I might as well introduce myself seeing as I've only been a member of the board for about four years now, but I've been reading the board for a lot longer, I think even when it was hosted elsewhere I was a lurker. My name is Jeff and I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. My hobbies are being a LEGO fire truck builder, an aviation archaeologist, an army man (i.e. toy soldier) enthusiast, book collector, a "furry", and an aspiring Marine. I put furry in quotes since furries usually get a bad name, however, my fursona is military related (a mouse from the EDF/Albedo Comic Universe) and I don't act the fool like most furries do. All that being said I don't aspire to be a furry Marine, thats too EU even for me. I did recently pick up an airsoft pulse rifle from Evike.com and I have a bunch of other airsoft stuff and some real firearms too (nothing overly cool though) all of which my 12 year old son and I shoot often. I work full time at a local animal shelter saving puppies and kittens and orphaned wildlife, or something like that.

Anyway, from the first time I saw Aliens I was in love with the movie, the USCM, and the weapons they used. I would love to get a full USCM getup, however, my furry military costume and the local conventions and such take up whatever free time I've got for that sort of thing, so I doubt I'll end up in full USCM regalia anytime soon, if ever, but who knows...

Jeff

Seen below are a few pictures taken during Fanime in San Jose earlier this year. Given the crowd I didn't have my tail on, I was going Usagi Yojimbo style for those familiar with that comic. There was an alien there that I did my best to fight off given there were no Marines around, but in the end the fight was a draw.

Hello all, my name is Bryan Williams, and I live here in San Antonio,Tx and I Have a air soft version of the greatest USCM fighting tool, yes, that's right... An M41-A pulse rifle. I will be getting the portable welder to go with my rig, and my patches for my uniform will be here within a week or so too. I went to Tex-Con and met Dee Wallace, but there was a no show of ANY USCM personnel there. I was dressed up in my rig, with my pulse rifle, and camo pants and black Wayland-Yutoni shirt. Drop me a line if you are from Txas and live here in San Antonio . Again, I am joining the USCM and I am awaiting for my service number. Thanks againg for all that you guys do......Ps. Stay Frosty Marines !!!!!!!!

Hello, I too bought an aliens pulse rifle from Evike.com how long did you have to wait for your item ? I ordered mine on the 12th of may 2012 and it arrived last Wednesday . I got to take it to my first con and there was no Aliens people there, not even a rep from the USCM . It kinda blew , but I got to meet Dee Wallace from E.T. And Critters and Cujo and few other films. And Lou friggno was there too. I payed 370 dollars or so for my pulse rifle, and I bought the welder from eBay a few days ago, and it will be here the second week in July .
