The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hello; its HUMVEE Driver here. After ghosting around for a while I finally registered.

I am a former Marine Infantryman (0331) and the movie Aliens was no small part of why I joined the Corps. Cpl Hicks yelling "Let's go, Marines!" has been a favorite line of mine ever since I first heard it.

Every year at DragonCon, since 2003, I go and hang out with the USCM for a while. I consider them friends, and I have been invited to enlist with them many times. But, I have my own genre to put my time (and money...) into, so I have to stay true to Mad Max. I am very big on costumes/outifts being authentic, and I had considered trying to get quality items for both genres, but it is just too expensive. Sorry...

SSGT Burton had asked me about his custom USCM Dress Blues uniform. I was very impressed, though he will never live down putting Army rank insignia on a Marine uniform. (kidding) I looking forward to seeing him all geared up again this year.

So I just wanted to say hi and let everyone know that I am impressed with all the knowledge and attention to detail that I'm seeing here. You have some truly great replicas! I make my own post apocalyptic weapons, armor, etc, (even vehicles!) so I can appreciate all the work you put into it. Well done!

By the way, recently on Ebay I saw a replica M-240 Flamethrower up for auction, fully painted and everything. #230238530694. It went for only $150.00 + shipping, Buy It Now. I say only because I suspect it would go for much, much more. Damn. And to think, if I were to do a USCM costume I would like to carry an M-240...

Anyways, stay frosty, and Semper Fi!

DAVE!!

Glad you could come aboard Marine!

Stick around if you can- there's a "Warriors of the Wasteland" thread in the OT forum you might want to take a peek at.

Part of the group mentality. Sucker for another costume now that the bug has hit.

I'm mostly a Star Wars fan and in the 501st (OLG) but my garrison mates have me interested in USCM. Gonna break out the Aliens DVDs and get into the game.

Hello, friends.

I'm just another wannabe marine. I met a lot of you guys last year at DragonCon... (I was the guy in The Specials/Two Tone ska suit http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k203/thestageninja/more042.jpg) ... and I knew while I was there, that this is what I wanted to do.

I'm currently in the process of getting my Marine stuff together, and I can't wait to see everyone again in August.

Hiya all.

Well, what to say? I'm an old ALIENS fan from back in the day (had a few letters exchanged with Harry Harris back in the days of the AFC).

Interests are many and varied, from history, through gaming and sci-fi.

And am I the only one who actually wants to attend events as a Company "observer" :D

Yeah you are you f---ing company man!

Just kidding- I'm sure you're really an ok guy. 8)

I'd be interested in what kind of costume you come up with- we've had WY "workers" (Lydecker impressions etc). Haven't seen a true "Company" man yet (such as in a suit with the turned up Mandarin collar). :)

Welcome to the board!

Not to get too off the welcoming topic.....but I have a Sean connery costume from 'Last Crusade' I put together cheaply for the new Indy movie.
I could switch it around a bit and do an OK company guy :)

Wanted to say welcome aboard, being a Rude Boy my self, and a big specials fan. Let's put it this way, I wear a tie 6 out of 7 days a week, and it's not because I have to. Welcome to the corps.

Well thanks all - and honest, I just wanna assure you all that I can guarantee your safety :D

Working on the costume at the moment, on it's way a checked shirt and a "hunting" vest. Going to get a baseball cap with the Weyland-Yutani logo on it (at this moment trying to find the patch, cos probably cheaper to find one in the UK and get a plain cap than order one ready-sewn from the States, though possibly going to see if can get a duck-hunter cap), and some non-military combat trousers, along civilian-type boots (like a lot of the modern boots that you can get, but keeping the logo on the uppers rather than ripping them off, as if just bought them from the store). The Burke "Camping-trip" look.

Also working on an ID Badge, just need to get some good looks at the ones worn in Hadley's Hope.

And of course, working on the Boardroom suit too.

But boy, doesn't it feel good to be the rat f**k s.o.b! :P

Hey there,

Where do you start with these things!? lol.... My name is Martin and I live in Winchester in England. I'm 25 and have been an Alien fan since I watched it at 9 years old! Of course I'm not so scared of them as I was back then!! (they were quite scary at 9!), and over the years have loved the franchise more and more.

I absolutely love the Colonial Marines, more so than any other part, and am currently (and slowly!) building up my collection and costume. This forum is helping massively with you all selling or producing props and costume components so a massive thank you to you all!!

Looking forward to meeting some of you at the Cons here in the UK, or wherever the UKCM are 'dropping'!! :D

All the best,

Martin Sherwood
