The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Stay in the light, keep thworing flares. Shoot low and try and take out legs so some of the xenos are crawling and moving slow. And if you can get far enough away try and grenade a cluster of them. I stuck near the elevator most of the time and did fine. Just remember short controled burts..

I did find the spare ammo & nades (unless there's more than 1 each). I guess I have to go for head shots, but damn it the game is too dark. Can't see anything.

Must be the brightness too low in either the game settings (in Options) or your TV itself.

I have the game brightness at maximum, and due to my TV settings I can just about make out the WY logo in the game brightness setting screen.

Here's how 'that' level looks on my TV.

Pic 1. I took the first pic as you come out of the elevator, note the bright spot from the shoulder lamp.
2. Then (after collecting the grenades, as that save starts with me having none) the second pic is with a flare thrown.
See how easy it is to see stuff? I only used one more flare after that.
3. The third pic is during the Xeno attack, showing the first one about to hit me. :)
4. The last pic shows that I still have half my ammo and only used two of the four grenades. Job done. :delta:

No bloody wonder. Those shots are a lot brighter.

Although my TV that I play on supports 1080i, I've only got a 1st gen. Xbox 360 that plugs into the RCA A/V ports to the back of the TV. We haven't got HDMI or any means to get that hi-def going despite a hi-def TV. The Xbox was free from my brother-in-law at MS. But he says they no longer give employee discounts on Xbox any more otherwise I'd be tempted to get a new one. So far there's really no need besides this one game being too dark.

Tnx for uploading . ;)

Have you not got component connectors on the TV?

That's HD, much better than how you've got it currently connected.

At least you know now that the game's not at fault. 8)

Well even if its to dark this strategy should not fail. Once the xenos start comming, Shoot the ones in front of you and immediatly turn around to get the ones comming up from behind and continue the pattern until there dead. I just tried this agian on nightmare difficulty and it worked ( I ended up with 0 PR rounds and 3 grenades )

I'm still playing Survivor (when I'm pissed off and want to hurt something) and gradually working my way through the Alien campaign, although it's hard going compared to Marine and Predator (and I'm playing it on Easy), mainly due to me getting disoriented when on walls or ceilings.

Pointless going online though, as I'm really rubbish and will be looking at the respawn camera more than being alive/shooting/killing. :D

So I picked this up last month, but couldn't play it due to the gaming machine being down.. But I got a new vid card last week & installed the game. I was jumping at my own fraking shadow until a facehugger got me.

I kept sploding myself if i didn't move around in the club and I find it is easier just to let the aliens get close and smack them back and then shoot em.

I just picked up Aliens vs Predator over the Christmas break for my PC. I'm just scratching the surface (played only a few hours). Is it possible to play the entire game without Predator influences joining in?

For those that asked earlier in the thread I'm running a Core 2 Duo with 4 GB ram and a 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 335M video on an Alienware MX11. It handles game well and looks great on HDTV.

No, sorry ...

The Predator presence in the game is permanent, as it is an integral part of the story. I feel your pain sometimes, so we'll have to hold out for Aliens: Colonial Marines and hope they don't dick that all up with Predators and Counter-Strike/Modern Warfare multiplayer console port garbage.

Modern warfare console port garbage? Surely you kid. Its firstly a console game, and the cod series has been since call of duty 3.

PLayed my way through all of the campaigns. Although I'm a pred fan, the Marine campaign was by far the best. The stories were weak and the online play wasn't set up very good (Ps3). They should have spent more time developing this game, I mean you can't even crouch. I agree with CW Mock, there needs to be a good Colonial Marines game.

Just beat the Xeno set again, and played through the Pred stages.. was fun. I musta missed the plasma caster whenever it came up though, because I went through the entire arc without it. ^^ [edit] Ok, I'm an eidjit.. I -did- have the caster, I just didn't KNOW it. But still, just calls me Popeye the Yautja. *toot toot*[/edit]

I have to say, I prefer (as Yahtzee put it) "Dining at Chateau de BiteyHead". :)

I am not sure if anyone noticed,I am sure most people did,but I am gonna mention it anyway. In the Marine campaign Corporal Tequlia(the other marine you save) armor front is Hudson's graffiti, but yet the back graffiti is from someone else.Atleast she has one or two of hudson's graffiti images, not all ofthem.

heres a screenshot of both the front of the armor and the rear

Hey guys, just picked up a copy of the game for 15$ on the PS3, if anyone wants a copy lemme know, at that price it's very much worth it.

Also drop me a line if you're interested in a game :)
