The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Can you post a picture of what you have?

Regrettably I can't because now that I want it I can't find the darn thing! :P

However, having looked back over the photo's I see what you mean about the hose being larger than the connector. That certainly does require some further investiagtion!
I'm preparing to change my mind about this one.
The connector on the pump hose would have to be bigger than the hose its self other wise it wouldn't store away in the end of the handle the way it should...

Yes. 10in will be enough for Fero.

Spunkmeyer sight cable will need to be longer.

The only problem with the new hama cable is, that they don't have
a vinyl coating unlike the vintage cables.

Heat shrink tubing might fix that, if you can find a piece long enough.

Or maybe Plasti-dip?

Stick with the hama cable without the vinyl coating in my
opinion.

That's what I used.

It is not that thick

These are great photos, wish I had them a fortnight ago, seems I will have to do a bit of modification on the two cameras I have built. I made the round thing on the right side (as you look at the photos) using a Christmas decoration, one of those cheap little balls, and as it turns out exactly the right dimension.

Cheers

Iain

Okay - took receipt of two fixer-upper SPH-4 shells with lots and lots of loose parts! Anyone got a manual or some kind of detailed take-down/reassembly guide?

I had a copy of the actual military manual, but I'll be damned if I can find it.

Here's another one though, the last 10 pages or so have a decent parts breakdown.

Thanks to Bugstomper, we now have 3 more parts ID'd from the right side.
Image
Plastruct
LF-316
LF-312
M-5

That only leaves the hoses + the bit inside the megatron bit.

Also got the spheres, tubes,+caps for spunk sight:

The pipe bits that I ordered are too small, but I think that they are for the same company.

Actually, I only spotted the knobs on a studio scale Probe Droid Despatch Pod from Star Wars.
ralphee over at the RPF was so kind to tell me what he used :D

The motor was spotted by Matt when he saw the Plastruct catalog.

However, I think I have two new part identified:

- The cylinder that is mounted on the Regult part is the cut off end of an M-12 motor. You can spot the green color on some of Giò's pictures!

- The part on top of the sight unit (Matt's plotted part is black in the above pictures). It's from Revell's 1/144 scale Space Shuttle:

Harry,

would you mind checking your archive for a picture showing this part:

The part is missing on Giò's helmet and obviously it was still present when the pictures for the Technical Manual were taken.

Cheers,
Stefan

Isn't one of these also on the helmet camera? Or was that known already?

Yes, Mike.

The LF-312 was used on the helmet cams + SG sight.

The LF-314 is used on the front of the welder, and I think the 312 is used on the back of it.

Stefan,

I think that part is an M-3.

After looking at the glue marks, I'm 100% sure.

Wife has my camera, will post picts later today.

Gio, now you get 2 more original parts.

I suspected this part too but I didn't know about the groove at the bottom of the M3-part! :D
That should correspond fine with the primer spray marks on the square where the part was attached.

What is interesting though is that in the TM it looks like there are some dark lines on the part. Those might be grooves, painted on or simply a trick of the light. Thus a picture of that area would be nice.

Cheers,
Stefan
