The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

"FACT!" he is, or "FACT!" someone said he was?!

Can't be that smart if it took him a good 12 hours to notice the comment had been posted...

Well I thought people could guess for a while and it might be an interesting topic. I'll post the answer down below...

Hi-li.

You must play right handed for safety reasons. And I think they only make right handed equipment.

Ok, now back to Frederica!

Do you have any more/better pics of the arm and vest?

Was that one of the $1K ones from China?

Iso-elastic arm (with cables) or spring only?

Is the vest page, it's actually an Indian company.

The arm is featured here:
http://www.thecinecity.com/tcc/product. ... 243&page=1
The arm is cable and spring and is tension adjustable.

You can buy any part individually - i found them to be very helpful

Thanks Mate, I thought I recognised that rigs design. :)

Thanks for the links as well.

When you bought your setup, did you get the camera sled as well, or just the arm and vest seperately?

Awesome build Alan! Great photos! :D

I absolutely love the fabricated upgrades that you've been doing! I dig that whole "gotta make it stronger/better" mentality. Just because you can build a kit as it was originally designed doesn't mean you have to. Just because you feel the urge to 'upgrade' or 'modify' parts of a kit doesn't mean it was a bad kit to begin with. This is where one can really personalize their build and make it the best they feel it can be. These builds are usually the most fun -- at least they have been for me.

You've definitely got some mad skills going on there too. Wicked looking flash muzzle! I could totally see myself building another custom smart gun with a muzzle like that one. Great stuff!

Back when I did my very first USCM outfit in 2005, I had done a scratch-built smart gun with the flash muzzle having been made from a piece of PVC pipe.

Once again, awesome job on your build Alan! 8)

Well, despite Fred not being 100% finished she'll be making her debut appearance at LFCC Earl's Court this weekend.

Oh and i've snagged a pentax lens for the headset, plus have the HM560 headband, Olumpus T28 and Megatron part.
