The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Greetings Everyone.

My Name is Brett (aka Stryderblue) and I am a working Steadicam Operator from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I currently developing an AvP fan film titled Aliens: Bughunt to be shot through the winter up here. We have an original Alien suit with stunt and hero heads donated by a prominant Hollywood FX company and many groovey locations. This show will be shot on 35mm Motion Picture film by a professional union crew and edited for release next year. This may possibly be the most ambitious fan film ever attempted. Time will tell. I am pleased to see the new board and will be happily lurking in the shadows reading most posts.

Hello all,
The name is Ken, 31 living in Central CA, and the board name I've had forever on many prop boards is still the same, Obi1kenny. But most people at Con's know me as the Elvis Trooper or even just Elvis, as I cross over and do an Indiana Elvis and even Elvis Solo. So will Elvis be joining the Marines in the future, most signs point to yes.

On my list of thing to do is building an airsoft PR and then armor, but maybe not in that order. And also machining more Pulse Rifle Grenades at some point down the road again. As some of you know I am a machinist and I usually have too many projects on the back burner, so what can I say, goals are nice to have I guess.

Oh and click here to be offended: www.ElvisTrooper.com

Greetings to everyone on all sides of the big pond,

My name is John, and I'm finally getting around to making the move to the new board. It's great to see a lot of familiar names already turning up. I became a fellow fanatical Aliens fan at about the same time I became a gamer, so I suppose it was pretty natural for me to develop a rabid interest in Aliens-related console and computer games. As such, I've posted a couple online strategy guides for two Aliens PlayStation games but my interest in the genre has extended to the novels, comic books, cards and card games, and models (which eventually led me happily here). Looking forward to continuing my alien delvings with the rest of this fine crowd!

Hi guys,
Some people on the Replica Props Forum site directed me here. So, I'm the new guy again :) Anyway, I'm a fan of all the Alien flicks, props, model kits, and I like making stuff from scratch. I haven't had much time for scratch built stuff lately, but I am now offically laid off, so I have nothing but time! I actually have very little Aliens stuff in my collection. In fact, I have a dropship I haven't built yet that was a gift from a friend, and Fewture's Alien Pile kit....which is on it's 3rd paint stripping....I'm not happy with the color choices I made.

Hello all...

Just found this place by accident.

Starting to really like Alien props, got me an airsoft PR and a box of beautiful machined grenades, but the $$ is still burning a hole in my pocket ;)

proceeding to add this place to my favourites...

Hey folks, just recently found this forum, thinking about taking the plunge into Aliens costuming. I'm reserching who makes the armor and price quotes and as soon as I do I hope to be able to join you guys. I relatively new to the costumong hobby, I just joined the 501st last year and so far I'm having a blast. I just love the looks on peoples faces when they see one of their favorite characters in person.
I have been an Aliens fan since the movie first came out in 86 and I cant wait to finally get a marine costume together. Anyway, great to meet you guys, hope to talk to you soon.

Hello everyone.

My name is Damian and live in the NW burbs of Chicago.
I've been into costuming for several years now and am a member of the 501st
(TK 826) and I am currently in the process of building a set of USCM armor.

I did read all 20 pages of the 'old' board just before they were deleted and quickly found that this place is a great source of information.

Because I have been studying up on the Colonial Marines for a while now, I have a few question that I didn't see addressed in the old threads, at least not since the time I started reading. So, I'm hoping that I'll be able to spark a couple discussions during my time here.

I do already know some of the people here.
They as well as the rest of the members here have already been a great help to me, in one way or another.

Damian.

Hello all,

My name is Pontus, 32 and live in Uppsala (Sweden). I use Lupus Yonderboy in one form or another as screen name on several boards. From what I've seen so far, this one looks fantastic, nice to see so many familiar names :) .

Although completely new to the Alien prop/costume business, I've been collecting/making costumes and replica props for a while now. Mainly Sci Fi movies and medieval stuff but occasionally also from other movies and/or comics. I've always been a huge Alen fan but I haven't managed to 'do anything about it', until now that is ;) .

Glad to have found you.

Cheers,
Pontus

Hello -

I never posted on the old board but I used to read it quite a bit. I've wanted to do an Aliens USCM costume for four years; ever since I saw a group in California do it at BayCon. They moved through the con in formation with the smart gunners taking point and everything. It remains one of the coolest things I've ever seen.

I'm slowly putting together a suit and what seemed like a simple set of armor and fatigues is turning out to be a massive collection of props and bits. Such amazing detail...

Anyway, I'm glad to be here. I may lurk most of the time, but be assured that your expertise is both admired and appreciated.

Oh great, what started as a desire to build the Airsoft Pulserifle is about to be an express elavador to... well you know. I got an orthopedic 2 piece body jacket which is the perfect start for the Col Marine body armor. I have been unsucessfully looking for the camo pattern from Aliens when I ran across the Harris web site. Trying to finish a Col marine outfit for Halloween.
I am an airsoft enthusiast who builds armor in my spare time, Roman, english, japanese. My next project was going to be "Futureistic" when I ran across the Pulserifle kit on an airsoft website.
Army Ranger but now father of three suburban software guy. Aliens came out on cable in my junior year in college and I almost failed that year because I could not turn it off...

Hi, everyone!

My name´s Jake and I am an Alien..oholic.
A little too young to have seen Alien on the big screen (Can´t wait for October 23rd), apparently too old to have enjoyed "Resurrection" (Sorry to all who did...)

I´m German and not too happy about the strict firearm laws we have here. It seems that in Germany, technically, I´m not even allowed to assemble a PR kit, because at first glance the M41 can be taken for a real weapon. Not that I´d really give a... secreted resin... thing, but I´ve heard that several PRs bought on the internet never made it past customs.

Does anybody have some solid information about that?
Or is all of this hearsay and... secreted..., you know.

Anyway – this is a great board, and I am amazed at the creativity and dedication you guys show.

Good to be here.

Hi there...

I'm 26 years old, male, from Sweden. Acctualy just got my eyes open for this scene.
I've been obscesing over a motion tracker for a couple of years, never really gave it a thought that there where more people out there just like me :-)

So, I gave google a whirl ... and ended up at deck36.
Man I was excited ! ... and then I got the word ...
... "deck36 is dead" ...

So here I am, and I will build my own motion tracker.
But I do need help.

If you know anything or anyone that could help in this task please send me a message ... I've been searching ebay and a swedish counterpart called blocket, to no avail.

That will be all for now, don't want to bore you all .

Hello All

My name is Keith Cousins,43 years young and live in London UK.

I mainly build/paint horror and sci-fi resin/vinyl model kits, which include a few Aliens.... Found this site by a link on the ClubHouse Modeling site (which is where I normally hang out) after someone asked about pulse rifles.

I've been working my way through the posts/threads and I have to say this is an excellent site that is now stored in my favourites.........I'll be back:D

hello,
my name is jörg,i´m 24years old and i´m from hamburg, Germany. i found this board by searching for pr´s in the net and i must say it helps me with much informations, because my dream is to build one "superhero" with so much steel as possible. my first pr was a relics one but i was very disapointed about it. i upgraded it a little by myself, so it looks acceptable for a relics one. i think it is a hard job to search, find and get real good pulserifle parts here in germany, (and sometimes very expensive...) further it´s not easy for me to scratchbuild or work out any parts by myself, because of an hard car crash 2 years ago, i sit in a wheelchair. so good luck for all people on this board, und schöne grüsse an die wenigen pulserifleverrückten hier in good old germany
jörg:)
