The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Well I'm more than happy with mine... and I actually prefer it to my G&P PR - It has more of a 'realistic' feel abou it rather than two peices of plastic screwed together. Plus the weight is an added bonus... still, each to their own (although the price was still a bit steep!!!).

The price of the HCG worked out about the same as the airsoft Thompson and G&P kit cost for my first PR. :|

WHAT!? Not for me it didn't! I must have been lucky then. I bought both my Tommy and G&P kit from the same dealer (in Hong Kong) and then had to have it shipped to Ol' Blighty - total was around £440, nowhere near £685 for a HCG. :)

Just checked on my old e-mails:

G&P kit cost me $510.00 from MiM
At the exchange rates in April 2007 ($1 = 51p) that worked out at about £260
The Thompson cost me £229.95 from a UK airsoft dealer.

Then I had to build it, buy a set of hex keys for that, etc., so it's not that far off the HCG price.

Man, this is pure chaos!

I can't import the Pulse Rifle myself (stupid restrictive gun laws! ), but I found a reseller here a few months back. However, it seems the owners of the store had some sort of falling out recently, and when I emailed them about my order last week, I was told that I'll still get the Pulse Rifle from the store which one of the owners has now "taken over". But their website is down...

So since this smelled fishy, I emailed them to get more detail. They gave me all the details including the info of their supplier, so I'm somewhat calmed. They told me I should email their supplier for an exact date of arrival. So I emailed them, and they told me it will arrive in about 4 weeks!!!

So that means I'll have to wait four more weeks to see whether I will really get my Pulse Rifle or not! Man!

Luckily, Matsuo told me that he'll try to hold on to one of the HCG Pulse Rifles, so if everything else fails, I'll still be able to get a set of shrouds. Thanks Matt!

But man, this is pretty nerve wrecking...

Cheers!

not sure if this is the right place nor if it has been brought up before, but
at first I was nearly getting rid of my super dooper PR in the hope that the HGC Pr would make it to Australia..
Then a lot of custom and fantastic PRs started being sold in a few forums, obviously to do the very same thing i wanted to do.
After the droop thing I see a lot of people trying to off load the HGC PR.
Is there something else wrong with this thing??
Or was the hype of the metal shrouds just not really worth it?

I believe people thought the HCG would be the be-all, end-all hero Pulse Rifle. But when the issue of the so-called "barrel droop" was hyped, a lot of people realized that they could get a Pulse Rifle for less without any barrel droop or other issues somewhere else and are now trying to sell their HCG.

I for one never saw the appeal of the HCG except the metal shrouds. But then again, I planned to rip these off and put them on my PR from day one. Why would I want a resin rifle, mostly non-functional, with metal shrouds? If I would settle for a resin gun, I could get one without aluminum shrouds from Spatcave for a fraction of the HCG cost.

So I guess the HCG is more for people who will destroy it for their "Super Pulse Rifle" with all metal parts (which I completely understand, as it is the same thing I am doing :D ) and people who just bought it thinking they could sell it later on since it's a "collectible" (I never understood this, I want to have a prop to play with and not to sell later on. Usually, when I see people buying things just for their collectible value, I secretly hope the price will drop and they'll have to sell it at a loss. I know, I'm terrible. :P )

Cheers!

Personally, when I ordered the HCG PR, I didn't think I would ever be able to find all of the real parts to build my own. In the time between when I ordered it and it came out, I did find all of the real parts, so that's why I sold my HCG. While I would love to have the metal shrouds, I couldn't bring myself to destroy it when I had perfectly good resin shrouds.

Other than leaving it upside-down in the sun or under a heat source to allow the droop to rectify itself I'm not aware of anything that would not require taking it apart.

I returned mine and have received photo's of possible replacements and they've all had the droop to some extent or another sadly.

I bought the PR at a Collector Shop and not from HCG. Everything is sold. I wonder if an electric baseboard heater can do the job.

Well guess I'll weigh in as this thread has been idle a while. The HCG PR is very nicely done. Detail is best I've seen. Weight is convincing. Most folks that handle it wonder if it’s a real gun. Everyone that has seen it say, “wow!” It’s pricey at $899 plus shipping but there are better deals out there right now if you just ask. Secret Compass (ebay dealer) will sell for $800 total shipped to US address (make offer $730 + $70 shipping = sold). Still a little pricey but worth it (my opinion). I saw an olive green HCG sell on ebay just after Thanksgiving for $772 shipped. Deals are out there.

The barrel droop is like a pain in the ***!

If you buy a PR on eBay, you can get this problem without any notice.

No argument here. Barrel droop is a pain in the rear for sure. Regarding an ebay PR purchase, SecretCompass will advance inspect the PR for you and honor a satisfaction return, if asked for. Pay with PayPal on ebay purchase and you also receive buyer protection privileges which includes 7 day return. Coolest PR I have seen to date but I haven't seen all the custom and modified PRs the artist on this site have built.

If it was all so cheap and affordable then everyone would have one and it wouldn't be special :)

Did anyone here get their HCG PR from Propstore London? And if so was there any issues with the droop. I am 5 payments into my 6 pay installments and Propstore have been holding a Brown Bess for me. Hope it doesn't have the droop.
