The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Better monitor would be nice! These two are showing their age.

The ridges are quite deep:

It looks more viable than I first thought...

My advice: next time, mix it with orange juice or water.

Remember; every thing in moderation.

Failing that, use your other hand.

If someone wants to send me a cutting of the TV grille, that

would be nice. I feel that part is next.

After a 2-3 week delay... dedicating the weekend to this thing.

I'm finishing up the helmet cut-outs and prepping it for final paint.

I got a tin of BB color matched to automotive paint ready to spray.

Want to see some picts?

I'll have some of the small bits ready to send the molder soon.....

I received the helmet sight today from Jesse. He told me he can mold up the sight piece for people.

Here are some images and dimensions of the hard to come by Hama "welder grip" cable that was used for the helmet sight on Spunkmeyer's helmet:

Attachment:
HamaCableEnd.JPG
HamaCableEnd.JPG [ 114.76 KiB | Viewed 9059 times ]

The cable itself (e.g. the flexible part) is 585mm long. Note that this cable has a transparent plastic jacketing around it. The two shorter cables do not have this (I got the 50cm version #005335 and the cable itself is 450mm long - about twice as long as needed).

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Stefan

Thank you.

Need to get Hama brand cables. Generic is too thick.

Kev, google: Bike Pump Schraeder Valve

You'll need two of them for the right side. (my picts)

I just saw a place in the UK that just sells the cables. (group buy?)

The end is not totally accurate, but works for me for now.

Also google: HAMA metal release cable

You'll need two for the left side. I just have to check this weekend
if the 10in version will be enough. I'm personally not going to
have my helmet spunkmeyer style, so not worried about the third
cable.

This is weird...

Frank Cerney is producing what looks like an excellent 1:6 kit of the stasis tube. Details here.

However, in one of his posed photos look what's on the wall!

Amazing coincidence! :o

Matt, I shudder at the thought of you taking apart your helmet to paint it.
Way back when I did mine, I must have done that three times. What a nightmare that was. :(
