The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Wow, so many rules.........so little concern. Come on Grunts Man Up get Pissed and get a little stinky. Isn't this what the cons is all about? I have to mind my P's and Q's every time I am on the road. Marriott be warned...Marriott be warned! Ill pack a quick fix kit and plenty of booze for the room bar. Ill be on the Gravy Train with Biscuit Wheels. All aboard and bring you industrial strength livers!

You are not allowed to prepare for Dragon Con until one week before the convention.

Building the endor in 2 weeks wasn't the problem. it was the damn helmet that prevented me from wearing it.

My head just exploded from laughing too hard. It's funny cause it's TRUE.

necro post! :)

first year I went I decided I wanted to go to McDonald's at 6am. By myself. I was apporached by a guy who said he wanted me to help him with his flat tire and that he needed a few bucks to get a spare. All I had to do was follow him back to his car.

No thanks!

On my way to the parade staging area last year, a new "friend" appeared and accompanied me almost all the way there. He wanted to take me on a short cut down a narrow alley between buildings.

Yeah, right!!

Anyway, I know the list is done but I have an offering anyway. It came to me at MegaCon over the weekend:

-Do not bring a stroller. Cons are very crowded places.

Oh yeah... this a common theme in this city... in 2006 when I came in from the MARTA, so slick character hustled me for a couple of bucks after he "showed" me how to get the the Marriott.... down the streets.

What did he do, just point in the general direction you should travel and send you on your way with a slap on the back?

Yeah last year I was "offered help" on which way to go for the registration line-up.

The number of the homeless population in Atlanta is ridiculous. :(

Fortunately for me, last year there was a downpour drenching downtown Atlanta when the doors to registration and will call were opened up so most of the "helpers" were absent. There was one guy chatting away casually with some guys in the line ahead of us who ended up asking for some cash for some reason or another. Otherwise, I didn't run across anyone else.

This is the reason I never carry cash downtown in pretty much any city. That way I can honestly say "Sorry pal, all I have is plastic."

Street artists/musicians I'll bring food to if I see them often enough - at least they're trying to make an honest buck in whatever way they can. The hustlers on the other hand can straight up kiss my ass, lol.
