The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

This costume has expanded a bit since I last posted.
I had so much fun making the smartgun I had to make a pulse rifle - I didn't need it for the costume but I wanted one! And it had to have the counter.. and a muzzle LED.. and sound!
I looked at a few available 3d models but none of them really grabbed me so I ended up modelling my own (using some of the better model parts as a template to model my own but everything made from scratch) and that had the advantage that I could design it specifically to mount the electronics. I had planned to go down the route of an arduino and sound fx board again as I did with the smartgun but within days of deciding to make it Majenko came out with a new M41 counter with sound and LED set up, so I ordered it all from him and I'm really pleased with it.

So without further ado, a bunch of pictures..

Very pleased with it but already have a few changes in mind for an improved version - a more accurate rear section especially.

However I'm not the only person in my house who really likes it! So we've been working on some clothing and other parts and coming soon, my first ever father/daughter cosplay.. watch this space.

Father/Daughter cosplay :D
Really pleased with this - done on a budget (in case she doesn't enjoy it!) but with an eye to the original costume.

very nice! and a fast build too. I have tried my hand at designing the smartgun eyepiece as an upgrade to my kit, but all the curves and corners are daunting. Great job!
