The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Matt,
that's some interesting stuff you have there!

Image

I do not have these parts in my kit! I thought the propmasters simply cut the part down that was in my kit. Are these on the small tree with the head parts? Why are there two of these and were do they belong on the Valkyrie (the part I have goes in the cockpit in front of the pilot)?

As for the color - that was something that bugged me too. However, the Bandai "VF-1J" Millia Type is molded in red too. :?
Maybe they used an Orbot too - that one is probably molded in a sand color.

Cheers,
Stefan

Ah, I just saw that the Orbot/VF-1D is a two seater!
So these parts are really shortened versions of the part in my kit (though shortened by the factory  ).

However, the Orbot/VF-1D and the Vexar/VF-1S have the wrong ears to be used for the helmet mounted sight unit!

So parts from both the Axoid/VF-1J and the Orbot/VF-1D were used.

Cheers,
Stefan

I may have found some more parts of the sg headset from our mystery motorcycle (or another one entireley.)

These don't match (from my Imai) but seems pretty similar.

And possibly

The parts are the speedo/petrol cap and the cowell over the rear wheel. There maybe one with a more 'square' profile on a different bike.

I've been told by someone who has the Matchbox kit that it is not the correct one.

Both the Matchbox and the Revell Electraglide showthe footpeg going into the main cover on the boxart

I found some scanned instructions for an Imex kit here: http://images14.fotki.com/v379/fileFsY3 ... /IMEXC.jpg

As you can see, this kit actually has the footpeg being inserted in the main cover, but in the wrong place. Maybe one of the other Imex kits.

My Imai Fat Bob is exactly the same as the Imex Fat Bob.

Maybe Imai and Imex are identical??

I tried joining half a dozen kit-building Yahoo Groups, and a Harley group, and no-one knew the answer to this one.

Damn WDI,

I bought another polaroid to get that missing part.

So, I pull out my drawer to get my screwdriver to rip

the new one apart, and I find the part in the bottom of

my pencil box. Oh well. Thought I was nuts not having that

part. Doh..

Here are some of my thoughts on the remaining pieces

from this side.

I also picked up some mirror bolts to slide on the braided hoses.

We've so nearly done that side... :D

Re the yellow part "metal tube with cap". I seem to remember Gio saying that everything was plastic.

I'm really looking forward to nailing some more of the parts on the helmet sight too!

Looks like we could use a Transformers expert - maybe he could identify some of the other parts...
Btw.: did you know there is a 1/12 scale Harley Davidson 'Transformer'. Haven't found a good picture of the left side though..

Cheers,
Stefan

I couldn't find anything online about this. The picture that Gio posted of the operator is the only referece I've seen. Is iteven possible to get hold of an original?

Gio,

Any possibility to give the diameter on the yellow part in

my post from above?

I picked up a 1985 matchbox harley-davidson flh-1200 classic model
kit on frackenfeebay. Hope to get it this week. This is the last
one before i just model it.

Any thoughts on any of the other parts?

I went through this forum looking at parts:

Matt,

As I stated earlier in the thread, the Matchbox Harley is not the right one. I have scans of the assembly brochure, the primary cover is molded in one piece, like the other kits we've seen.

Birdie,

I saw that. I picked this one up because it was cheap, and the

model was one of the big touring style bikes.

The Optimus Prime exhaust stack looks kinda like parts of your green section, but I couldn't find anything closer.

Matt,

could you compare the size of that part to the bottom of a 9V battery?

Cheers,
Stefan

Gio,

So the actual tubing is 8 or 9 mm?

I'm thinking a t-fitting is submerging into the spunk sight.

Darren,

Thanks bud. PM sent. I'm sure something is going to come of
this. I'm not a modeling guy..

Stefan,

It is the width of 9v for sure. Might have been cut down.
The top 4 tits (sorry thats what I call them) appear to
be retainers.

I just noticed that the part Matt has marked in green is recessed into the megatron part on the Ferro helmet, but is further out on the Spunkmeyer.

Could be a mistake in the original assembly, or a later repair?

...Very difficult ... to check...
may be ... 8 mm...
but I can tell you that the plastic color is ... "emerald" green!

I forgot ...
the green part of the Ferro helmet (into the megatron part) now is ok ... the same position of the Spunkmeyer helmet.
It is "mobile" :)!

Bye
Giò
