Ok Jay here's my opinion- when you say subdued, do you mean OD green and black?
Because the green just won't work on this uniform- for instance when we have photoshopped standard army rank (gold on green) onto the uniform it has looked wonky. For this reason we are using the new army dress blue (gold on midnight blue) rank stripes.
Unless you meant something other than OD green.
Really it would mean getting custom patches made, which so far has not gathered a lot of positive response.

Not sure if having the color guard would affect our little drama about face huggers and stuff? I guess not necessarily.
I don't believe it will. The way I see it- someone in full combat gear carrying our flag kinda looks out of place to me (not taking anything away from Chris- who looked great this year).
I believe our little section of the parade will be a sort of montage of USCM uniforms... Parade Dress, Battle Dress etc.
Also with a clear distinction between the Honor Guard in parade dress, and the grunts in battle dress, I don't think there will be such a fuss about you guys "keeping in step", "not breaking ranks" (like ya always manage to do

).
You just gotta let me know when you guys are stopping to do the facehugger routine... My eyes/head/body will be facing forward the entire march.

On the enlisted USMC jacket, the epaulette isn't "real" in that it cannot unbutton and open up.
Now that is something I did not know! Are the buttons removable?
Also are we going with the full shoulder rig? I envisioned just the belt.
