I saw the comicon interview with the screenwriter, and he was suggesting that it's not a true prequel, in that you watch it and the end is the beginning of "Alien", but
the project has kind of grown beyond those predetermined boundaries. And supposedly additional films could follow if this one is successful.

He said if you're a fan of the "Alien" films, you'll see connection points in theme and substance, but it appears to not be a direct prequel to Alien. And after reading the article

Well as i said in the Screenshots thread. 20th Cent Fox announced that this Friday 05/Aug/11 the Prometheus goes live with the Comic Con teaser.

Apparently the teaser will be show with Rise of the Planet of the Apes today, no guarantees though. I did hear that the link i gave above could be a hoax link but i cant see how really.

I'm sure if the teaser is out it wont be long before it appears on Utoob!

You won't see that footage until after the 12th-14th, I can guarantee you that (pm me if you want to know why). I hope they do put it up after that though. I don't see the harm. Obviously, said footage doesn't contain story spoilers and I hope it continues that way. With Ridley Scott, imagery alone will excite beyond expectation so I hope they keep it under wraps and don't put the film in a trailer like they did with Avatar. Avatar stayed secret for years until the trailer came out just three months before the movie itself and it pretty much illustrated the story. The original trailer for Alien was intriguing so I hope they use that as a template.

That's neat seeing the mold from the door in the first film as part of the set design. We've yet to see an egg of that size that the blog noted, but I suppose it could be possible.
