Hi Ade - I've been trying this out as well and I think you're right... It looks like Al just manipulated his... Mine is currently too starchy for that and keeps popping back up! It could also just be a card piece of reinforcement tucked into the inner brim...

I have two issues with the Roxy theory as the source of Apone's cap.

1. Roxy was founded in 1990, Aliens premiered in 1986.
2. Roxy is a women's apparel brand, this cap is not a very feminine accessory.

those are 6 panel, you need 5 panel, then the shape is easy to do
