The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hi Steve

.. I couldn't put my order through at the end of last month as my work screwed up my pay so I couldn't afford it. I'm hoping to be able to at the end of this month bit I'm concerned about ordering them that late if you won't be around anymore to handle it so to speak. Work has been pretty quiet and I've been off work for 2 weeks as I put my back out so I'm not 100% sure about being able to anyway at the moment.
Will be a shame if I can't but I will have to wait till pay day.

Hope everything is ok with you mate and that things are going as smoothly as possible for you.

All the best

Darren

I'll still be a tenant (left) to them and involved at the front end until end of June which means for my involvement to ensure smooth handling in person, May is the last month to put the order in. After that -- I will try to act only as agent, possibly building a web shop and automating the inputs for Size Chart. That way there could be as many as 200 more BDUs to be made or until we run out of fabric. To re-order the fabric and all the sides would keep my involvement in BDUs and that is not part of my mid to long term plans .. at this point in time. (BTW -- I might post this on the thread if you don't mind, except that part about speculating on other sources for BDUs). Cheers, buddy!

Just a friendly check in to see how your surgery went. And to see if there is any good news on the BDUs.

Shawn

Thanks, surgery was performed on February 8th larascopically (via camera under the skin). I've been trying to come up to speed. They removed a 1cm tumor (non-cancerous) from my liver.

Regarding all WIP BDUs, I believe they are all done. There is a batch of about 7 sets. Unfortunately, due to current family and business arrangements, the turn-around has been extended as the next trip in slipped from this week to middle March. We used to offer expedited express out of China. ON the next trip in I hope to re-set up an account with a express courier so the tailors be in position to send out packages themselves. But if you have a BDU WIP, please be advised the sewing is done and they are awaiting my next business trip. Again, due to change in marital status, my needs to make these trips now pend not on seeing my wife, but on other related business matter (liquidating my property). I DO NOT make trips just for BDUs. If I did, you can expect the overhead to be added to the price. And the price structure has not been change to enable this. When my trip is pending (i.e. I'm on the train in from HK-China) -- I will post and LYK. At that time, the orders will be picked up and hand carried to HK for posting. In the meanwhile -- I have no other updates. Thanks~!

Anyone can consider that a special trip to get the orders out round trip 200km including lodging and transport will be USD$400 to be divided by 7 sets. In the rare event that all 7 orders don't have a problem with the additional overhead, or anyone particular person would like to pay for me to make the special trip to retrieve your order expedited -- PM me and I will make the special arrangement to go ASAP. Just FYI as an option. Otherwise, please read the above in regards to order processing and delivery. Tnx!

1st off I am glad the surgery went so well. as far as the trip you plan to take in march means that means the 7 people awaiting their BDUS can expect them like Mid april correct?

Just wondering, would that include my two helmet covers as well? Not in a rush, just curious...

Steve and everyone else - be aware that MAA's @scifimilitary.com email is not accepting emails and is bouncing all PM and other forum notifications back to the Aliens Legacy server.

This means that if you PM Steve, he won't be notified of the new PM, and emails sent to him won't be received.

As far as I can tell, this has happened since 21st February.

If anyone has alternative ways of contacting MAA, it might be worth telling him that the scifimilitary.com domain has EXPIRED.

I dunno if this was delibrate, but it would be a shame to lose SFM, even for archives.

Get well soon MAA.

I've been having the same problem the past few days. The site was back up about a week ago and went down again just recently.

I have need of the BDU charts from SFM site... I had printouts but can't find 'em anywhere. :|
If someone could kindly PM them to me it would be very much appreciated! Thanks in advance. :)

Let me put it this way-

Nothing looks like USCM camouflage.

You might find something with colours that look similar, but you will never find an off the shelf set of BDUs that replicate the pattern accurately.

The biggest difference is that most if not all "woodland" style patterns (regardless of the colour scheme) use a horizontal orientation to the overall pattern. USCM camo used a vertical orientation to the pattern.

Hard to believe, but I found this site years ago by searching for "frog and leaf" camo. At the time, we were all buying safariflage as the closest thing.

Talk about "end of an era". I'm sincerely sorry to hear about your troubles, Steve.

I'd be interested in purchasing some of your leftover fabric, if you're open to the idea - enough to make myself a spare set of bdus if mine ever get damaged or the like. Feel free to send me a PM if you're interested.

Hope things get better for you.

MAA,

I assume you've been busy relocating and recovering from your operation these past few weeks. I sincerely hope things are going much better for you now. When you're able, I'd be much obliged if you'd get back to me at your earliest convenience. Hope to hear from you soon, bro. Take care.

I believe he mentioned that he was moving to Taipei, so it's likely he's fully occupied with getting resettled.

I also want to contact him ASAP, but have no way now that the SFM site is in limbo and messages sent from this board get bounced back. Guess we're just going to have to bide our time till he checks in here again.

That makes two of us. I sure hope he's doing okay and checks in here pretty soon. If I can't arrange to get my armour shipped out fairly soon I may end up having to borrow a set from somebody again for D-Con next summer... :|

Yeah. I'm waiting to hear from him as well. I've got a set of built up armor that I've been waiting on for almost 2 years now. I would even be happy to just have it shipped as is now and I can get it built up. I know Steve has been having real life issues, and I feel for him, but at the same time, I paid almost $700 and still have nothing to show for it.
