Because of the copyright issues with making runs of licensed products, the people involved are keeping quiet (which is the right thing to do).
To try and explain: there was another maker of
very screen accurate BDUs. We're talking an exact match. However they were probably too expensive for the average grunt (they were custom made after all). Because of the clandestine behaviour of the company itself- they did not "take off" in sales so to speak. This is not to say they did not do well... Frankly because they were so secretive, it's hard to know how well they did at all! Once their initial run was finished, that was it. No more BDUs.
No too long afterward, MAA came along and with his business that already makes reproduction Vietman era uniforms (I'm sure that's not all- but it is what comes to mind first), and was able to offer a
relatively inexpensive, quality set of screen accurate BDUs.
So there it is in a nutshell.
