The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Brian's still on the scene... :) He just posted a message on my forum at colonialmarines.ca... and I had been in brief contact with him during the year.

I fully support his absence from this forum, let's face it... his name was smeared and his honour shamed. Who the hell would want to show their face after something like this?

I for one look forward to meeting him again.

I have a few grenades I can donate. They're raw resin and thus need cleanup and paint, but they're free.

I would love to see FNG and Alex again so if they ever have a change of heart I will be very glad.

But, as I've stated before, someone who makes the willful decision to avoid our company is not "missing". He is AWOL. I personally have no desire to raise a toast to rejection.

But if that person comes, his first drink is on me.

The ideal thing is for all parties concerned to bury their hatchets and to let by-gones be by-gones.

I'd welcome any of them back. Semper Fi.

Finally sussed out my donation - a set of Alien 3 WY patches, and also my big donation fresh out of ebay - a t-shirt from recent sci-fi thriller release Sunshine worn by Cliff Curtis (who also starred as FBI chief Bowman in Live Free Or Die Hard)!

I want to donate the holy grail of USCM..... one tin of authentic Humbrol paint number 170 BROWN BESS 8)
Did some shopping today and I believe I cleared out the Edmonton stock. When to two stores and bought every can they had. :D Anyway, that's my contribution to the raffle.
~edit~
I lied  I'm also going to add Ripley's report on disk.
Image

I used a 3.5" floppy disk and made sure it was 720 kb. Nicely painted in Dom's favorite color Brown Bess. It even has Ripley's report on it thanks to SSgt Burton 8) This should add to the war booty.

Here's one with a few "accessories". No, they are NOT included in the raffle. Besides, how would I import my real VP70Z into the Atlanta?

We need a new spot for the raffle.
Just got the rules in for the fan tables

4) New as of 2006 (But with advanced warning now! Sorta), no raffles or drawings may be held for the fan group. Again, there are no exceptions. It's hard to hide a raffle or drawing, too. Please don't make any attempts. We will disperse the crowd and stop your drawing / raffle immediately and it only gives the crowd a sour taste towards Dragon*Con and your fan group.

Sounds like someone complained, probably a dealer who was selling something that one of the fan groups was giving away as part of a raffle/drawing. Either that or one of the groups tried to skirt the "can't make money" line that D'con sets for fan tables.

Probably the latter. I doubt we have anything in the raffle that a dealer was selling.

Only thing I can find from our little movie in the dealers room is the inaccurate patches.

It's still BS!!!

Can you tell I'm pissed?

Anyway- Since someone has to man the table at all times during the table hours (morning until 6pm) maybe we should do it after 6?

Hey how about at our dinner or lunch gathering?

Oh, I'm not saying we were the ones that caused the rule. Heck, did you see the huge drawings the One Ring group were doing a couple of years ago.

WTF? What about fan groups like SeBC who sell stuff outright in the fan area?

I second this motion. Especially the beer and good looking women...and not the ones where I have to have a lot of beer for them to become good looking. :D

Actually that is a big no-no from what I've heard (there was a discussion on another forum a year or two back). The whole idea about them being free is that we don't make money off of them, or so I was told.

I like the dinner idea. My Friday is swamped so Saturday would be better for me but whatever the Corps decides I will aim to attend :D

Opposite for me in that Caturday (oops did I just say that? )...

I mean Saturday is my busy day. But just like Chris said- anytime, anyplace, I'll be there.

Just give me plenty of warning or I might be there in green tights.

Just got off the horn with Tony... a dinner area (ie Hard Rock Cafe) may not be the ideal as not everyone may want to eat at the same place...

We agreed that the food court would be the right location and take place after the colony sweep.... is this ok with everyone?

Many choices abound there :D Food for sure, sometimes women and maybe a beer here or there if memory serves correctly.
