The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Thanks for taking the time to merge the two threads, and my apologies for the confusion.

Fwiw, I've been told the extreme down angle of the rear tail fin has been corrected to more accurately match the original model - but haven't seen any updated pics.

Some of the shots in the movie have the tailfins angled down, though on some models they are near flat, so I guess it's dependent on what they looked at, but the angle currently seen on the the HCG model is excessive, so good to hear it's been corrected.
I'm trying to bite my tongue so to speak but in truth am a little disappointed by what I've seen.

Been eyeballing this bad boy for a while, but... Static non-swivelling arms?
At THAT price?
Absolute dealbreaker.

There are ship models from other franchises with moving parts, lights... Hell, even AUTOMATED moving parts!
Look at the new Optimus Prime, for example:

https://animegami.co.uk/products/transf ... hIQAvD_BwE

2/3 of the price of this, and it has lights, sounds, full detailing, and TRANSFORMS ITSELF.

Thank you very much for sharing. With the lighting and contrast of that photo it has a somewhat vintage atmosphere about it - like it could be a still from the original set in 1986. Although I've been critical of what has so far been presented, I'll admit that the model certainly looks nice from that angle. Perhaps I'm mistaken, but it appears that there's some wiring protruding from the model? I assume it's wishful thinking, but is there any chance HCG has taken our desires to heart and is actually considering wiring the model for working lights? I can also see that the landing gears are absent. Perhaps they'll be an option to convert the model to in-flight mode with the landing gears retracted such as the Aoshima model features? Have they proven wise enough to actually take the interests of potential customers into consideration? Once again, probably wishful thinking on my behalf, but one can always hope...

I believe the image above is in fact a vintage photo of the original studio scale model from the production.
(Not the current HCG model)

Yes that's correct.

Thank you very much for pointing that out to me. I ran the photo through several reverse image search engines and nothing came back, so I made the somewhat naive assumption it was a HCG prototype. Clearly I shouldn't be getting my hopes up where HCG is concerned. Thanks again for clearing this up.

Part of me wants to 3D print my own, the other part really wants this lol

I have the HCG APC and I am not a fan of it.
