The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Got the shoes in. Nice laceless velvro style. Very retro. Perfect for the person in it who needs to debug things...

Wow!! Very Nice pick up, knoxvilles_joker!You're all set for Alien Day this Sunday! I prefer these lows compared to the high tops. They look much better on feet than from the promo photo.

I just checked the website and they have my size!! Plus that 50% off promo code that Willie Goldman posted earlier still works ! It's sooooooo tempting! Hmmm....

the elastic under the top panel is nice.

I wear them at work and work in IT, so it really brings debugging to a whole new level.

So far the wear is very comfortable but it is a little warm. Great on concrete surfaces no real fatigue.

There are already dozens of these on ebay for crazy prices. Can't stand scalpers.

I think Reebok is seeing how insane the prices are and is trying to enter a niche market.

Accuracy aside I think this is a great thing for us as we scour the world to collect things for our beloved fandom and as more stuff gets made it makes it very affordable for our new younger folks to actually be able to afford to get into things so to speak.

Looks like these were the least popular entry in the series. Still not sold out. All sizes except 12+ look to still be available as of this posting.
Wonder why. The price increase? Less "USCM" fans in the aliens community? Possibly a higher production run? (haven't seen the numbers for quantities)

Looks like the low-top original design did sell pretty quick though. All gone

Those scalpers are gonna be using them as work boots haha!
Ive talked to people about aliens many times who didnt know what colonial marines are.
these sneakers seem to be more nichelike joker said, all the other entries stand alone as cool kicks even if nobody gets the reference. I love that they are an homage to Hudsons armor. Ive also seen quite a few of these Jordan style kicks with camo on that back part lately, seems to be a hip style. Definitly still niche though. I would have made a sneaker version of the Nam Jungle boot with the reebok name in graphitti though and a yellow insole with the weyland logo. OD green with a leather toe and heel.

The facebook reactions when they were announced def shined a flashlight on the the 'fair weather' fandom in the group. There are a lot more "watch the Queen fight, forget everything else" fans out there than we realize. I was face-palming like crazy when people were not only confused how these shoes were "aliens related" at all, but openly hostile in their confusion.

Goes to show why these companies cater to the 'rubes'. Going after 'joe blow' and 'sally bandwagon' results in sold out product in minutes. Dang shame and such is life.

Managed to snag 2 pairs in different sizes from Reebok UK. END clothing still has these in stock, if anyone is looking. No need to pay the rip off scalpers on Ebay. I read that this is the last time there will be any Aliens themed shoes being released.

I have my doubts. They have done re-releases before and they will do them again at some point. Though if they say that I would lay odds and execs son wanted some and they were forced to do a production run...

While not "Aliens themed" I know Reebok is recycling the "stompers" design yet again with a "Mountain Research" edition next month. They are really cranking out the variants and probably won't stop those. Really getting their money's worth from that pattern...

Side note: Where are all the "low tops"? They went from plentiful to sold out on A-day, yet no scalpers on ebay?! Did I miss something? Is it possible actual fans are simply wearing them!?

Got 1 of my 2 pairs today. Sadly the display box got a little crushed by one of the shoes being thrown around inside. This despite being in an outer box and a shipping box. Not a big deal though. The clear dog-tags are cool.

Actually they look really retro. Retro sells. We can expect more and more variants as things keep selling out...

Got mine today. There are a lot of cool "hidden" bits that you can't see until you unzip, unstrap, and unfold stuff.

-My box was also damaged in the same place as above. The shoes were snug in the correct spot though, so I don't believe the shoes are what did the damage. Might just be how they come? Kind of squished into place at the factory?
-The dog tags are cool. They have a cut similar to Burke's business card, but obviously 'dog tag' sized. The service number listed on them is Hudson's (also the service number on the inside sole is the same).
-Hudson's skull is on the inside sole of the other shoe.
-The QR code takes you to https://www.alienuniverse.com/

Overall, I dig em. They turned out nicer than I was expecting.

I went to class with a UPS worker. They punch boxes for fun. He didn't know the box he punched was full of 16 small boxes and his wrist gave before the box...

Plus things get tossed during shipment too along with some medium of movement so hard to tell honestly...

I don't believe abuse is at play here. The part in question is under the 'flaps' of the decorative box, which itself is wrapped in bubble wrap, which itself is in a WY labeled brown shipping box, which is then in the actual shipping box with labels etc. With no damage anywhere else including the fancy flaps, the only options are: A-That is just how it looks due to 'off' design and the roll not folding back smooth or B-The shoes themselves are doing the damage (which I don't believe there is enough 'rattle around' room for them to get that kind of momentum).

Nice link Willie, shame it only looks like these are in stock in size 6, as I kinda want a pair of the Mountain Research jobbies... for reasons...

Edit: hmm, I don't love the text over em, but I guess that could be covered up.
