The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I love the Morita! Mine is not a cast off of the original hero gun, but I decided to go with a shade of grey as well. The first attempt with a more accurate green looked weird in combination with the rest of the costume.

I had a lot of trouble getting a colour I liked on the Morita. I re-watched the movie in HD and discovered that many of the screen used Moritas are a combination of black, green, and grey parts. I started with a dark grey and then tried a green-grey (Luftwaffe Grey, IIRC).

My Morita has a rifle receiver added (modified Airsoft M2 Carbine) and a "functional" shotgun (Dong Son Airsoft Ithaca 37). I also added an Airsoft M60 flash hider.

If you're looking for a Morita there is a project run starting up in the RPF Junkyard right now. I don't know the builder but it looks like decent work and the price is fair.

Here I am trooping with the Morita at MSP Comicon year before last. You can see the colour better here.

Uniform is modified light grey BDU with ATV boots. Armour was found on eBay - it's a cheapo copy of the SST armor., but looks the part with a little weathering. This costume is still a WIP.

I feel like I hijacked/derailed this thread a little, but it's awesome to see more SST stuff.
That Morita on RPF looks solid, miles better than the atrocity from GA and reasonably priced for a casting that's not hollow or foam filled.

Here's the latest version of my SST outfit - printed guns, foam armor and helmets cast off of a printed master.

Two things here - 1) YAY! + thank you for mentioning this, and 2) search thorssoli threads; totally worth spending an hour or so checking out his build threads - he does a lot of WH40K and other very, very nice stuff.

Prop-A-Torium at Crypticon was a huge success!

And in addition to being a great 'con, I also found a Spatcave Spulse Rifle kit in the dealer's room!
