The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Thanks! The armour was cast from a Terry English set so the strike plate was part of it. I just moulded and cast the whole helmet.

Very very nice. What have you done to attach the welder to the belt?

Thankyou! I used 2 loops of webbing joined with a fast release buckle. Not accurate but nicer than just tying it to the belt with paracord.

Sure! Heres my solution. Might go with the paracord though to be accurate.

As you can see its a sling swivel with a keyring through and 2 webbing loops joined by a buckle.

I like it! If you ever decide to get rid in favour if para cord, give me a shout! Did you screw a sling swivel into the resin welder? It's nice mate. I know people like para cord, but there'd be plenty 'rigger' types to rig something like this up...

Has anyone even got a close up of the rig Hicks used? All the close ups I've ever seen his arms or Pulse Rifle get in the way... Even on the Hudson screen used close ups in the Tech Manual there's no decent shot...

here are a couple of shots of my marine and the para cord rig I do, one length knotted then looped top and bottom welder is stable and easy to remove, I do like your set up and had mine similar but my 're enactor' brain got working and I thought it thru and came up with the thought that the welders were possibly a mission related item and as such should have been carried in a ruck or pouch, no ruck is worn on the mission so the thinking goes, I have this welder I have to carry, its way too bulky for a pouch, I aint putting it in my pocket, far too uncomfortable, if only I could loop it on my belt ............... mmmmmm that bit of paracord frost was playing with the other day, now what could I do with that??......................

Saw this on the bluRay and thought of this conversation. Figured I'd slap it up here.

It really is just a loop with the screen tucked through it then folded down.

Well after finally finding a MAA BDU top I can finally call my Hicks display complete!!

The only thing I could change is the sleeve length but tbh I cant bring myself to chop them off.

Its been a fun ride and cant quite believe its finally over.

Heres a final shot.

For the sleeves, couldn't you just fold them inside themselves and pull them through from the inside? (I hope that makes sense)
That way they're still there but give the right look on display.

Thanks guys! Haha yeah Hicks does like to Rock out after a drop :)

I tried feeding the sleeves inside but theres simply not enough room inside the armour for them.

Think ill just leave them until my OCD kicks in and pretend they're Frost's BDU's :)
