The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Isn't Cameron wearing CADPAT in that picture?

Nope. Looks more like AOR1, or something else

It's neither AOR, CADPAT or MARPAT- it's his own custom colourway and pattern of camo (the awkward sod!) :)

The camouflage (please note the correct spelling. ) used in Avatar is custom made and not used by any modern force. The closest I was able I find was Philipino PSG camouflage.

The pixels of the Avatar camouflage are too big to be CADPAT or MARPAT.

Personally, I would love to have one of those uniforms.

I've taken to wearing my Multicam BDUs with my USCM armor. After shelling out the money for spat's armor pulse and getting ripped on ebay for a motion tracker that's missing its monitor piece, I'm going to have to wait a while before I can spend $200+ on the screen style BDUs. besides it even says in the TM that there are multiple styles dependent on operational environment. The first time I wore my gear out to a con in San Antonio people knew I was a Colonial Marine.

Whether you like the digicam stuff or not, CADPAT works amazingly well in the field for displacing shape and texture.

Multicam is good, but I have always liked plain OD too.

Digicam got big because the USCM started with it and the Army followed suit.
FALSE. The point of origin was Cadpat designed in Canada. Marpat is a licensed copy of Cadpat, just different colours and the addition of small EGA's.
