The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Well, I slept on the sage advice and did a black wash over the armour this morning. Pictures to follow ;)

What type of sights did you use and how are they sitting inside the shell? I ended up bolting a Colt-style 4x20 "tube" scope to that top 'trench' but wouldn't mind a pair of solid irons to go with them.

Front sight is from 'The Turkey Undertaker' set of shotgun sights I bought on E-bay (I'm not sure if they are meant to be hilarious, but they are!)

Rear is the middle from an M4 BUIS I had kicking about the bits box- fitted both using Milliput Black, straight into the bottom of the channel with no holes drilled.

I've since replaced the rear with the dayglo matching rear from the turkey sight set. Looks better and provides more light.

So- Mrs Demoncase has been merrily sewing away for me, while I've give the armour a blackwash then adding some war with silver paint.

I must say, it's much darker in person- bloody flash photos.

Also, tan dyed an Urban camo USMC cap and added a flash for some else to wear when I'm not on the field of combat....Oh, and added an extra bit of graffiti on the chest plate I spotted on a forklift truck at work "Warning- Acid Splash Zone!" ;)

Yeah the wash really made the armour look "used" and dirty. Well done on all of it.

I was skeptical about the black wash at first....But now, having seen it all done, I tip my hat to you guys for suggesting it- it's really made the look of the armour more realistic. :)

You'd better send it all to me to inspect and make sure it's done correctly...
