The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Congratulations to all involved in making this, great job indeed. 8)

I'm sure we could all nitpick, and point to things that the 'professionals' do/would have done, but I've seen a hell of a lot worse produced films on things like the Sy-Fy channel.

Well done. nice to finally get to see this film. and story was good. i think it was a good filler for aliens to alien 3. The VFX was done good in most shots. some could have used a little more TLC but yet fan made so right on. but the bad thing was the acting was rough( but yet more fan films are. i know since im helping with a Halo one right now and my acting is kinda bad)

Well done on making this. I know how hard it is to make a fan film as I've been in to fan films since around 98/00.
People need to remember that fan films don't have the luxury of big or small productions. They don't have the time or resources.

Guys if you do plan a sequel and need some advice, let me know. I'm not claiming to be James Cameron or the greatest DP or special effects guru, but I can advise and point you in the right direction.

Now that you've got one under your belt you'll only improve.

i havent said anything agaisnt the hard work put into this
all i said was a few small gripes that i found in the film
i didnt say it was crap
i said i enjoyed watching
i studied film for 4 years and i nitpick every single film i watch, its what i spent 4 years doing!!!
as for my military experience yes i havent been deployed yet and due to a knee injury i'm getting fixed i may not be anytime soon
but still 5 years is better than nothing and its alot more than the occassional weekend

end of the day credit was due
and no matter what criticism will be given wherever you go with anything
thats what the internet offers billions of people the ability to do

Darren, I love the way the CG buildings match into the real world locations, very neat.

Glad to see it is getting a lot of views and positive comments on you tube.

Laughed out loud at the: "subtitles please" comment, I wonder how they coped with Alien 3.

- Cheers,

Andy

Agreed – I also liked the way they were evenly spaced throughout, helping to break up and identify the locations well.

Let the man enjoy his moment and have a bit of common courtesy.
You're no Roger Fucking Ebert. And stop making out you're some kind of military man. You're not.

Agreed with this.

More importantly, I saw this on facebook and thought I'd swing back in to congratulate you Darren. It's really a great bit of work. Captures the Alien feel well and is a total love letter to the fans. Incredible work. Was pleased to see my Cameo made the cut! ;P

I'd need to borrow a mini DV camcorder to be able to transfer the tapes. It's not something I did before, only transferred the usable takes. There's plenty of gaffs on there and some disturbing footage of Geordi that may be best left where it is lol

Hey Darren, did you guys build all you own sets for the APC and the entrance to the lab? They were really well done, and I just was curious because...well....they were REALLY well done! :-)
