The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Okay, I added a thin black line to the pattern, which do you guys like better, the first or second version?

(image removed)

After modding it, I think I still like the first version better. Thoughts?

As of today, September 15, 2011 11:38 hours, the Aliens Legacy now has an official Tartan pattern recognized by the Scottish Tartan Society!

Our tartan is classified as a corporate tartan. The official name is Colonial Marine (Aliens Legacy).

If anyone would like to donate a small pittance toward the registration fees, registration cost 70 UKP which I have paid for already.

Nobody is required to donate anything, this is just a free will donation if you can afford, and would like to do so.

alienslegacytartan@rookscastle.com

If someone is recording uniform guidelines, I'd suggest that this tartan pattern in a kilt can be worn with any
Colonial Marine uniform in lieu of trousers. I'd suggest it not be worn with the body armor as wearing the abdominal
armor with a kilt will present it's own unique set of problems. :)

A sash can be worn with armor instead of a kilt.

I'll be researching into getting the pattern woven for kilt making, but right now that's looking very high cost. One site
I found quoted $75/yard and a typical "light" kilt uses 5 yards of fabric.

I'll present more as I know more.

Scapey wore his kilt with the armour sans ab pad and it turned out really well. :)

If this is on the cards I`d be in for one :D Last time I worse a kilt it was the Olde 15th Century style with "the over the shoulder" for body warmth :D Now that was a practical piece of kit, Fighting in the snow and drinking whisky and Never once felt the cold. Oh and it`s GREAT for cheating at Hockey ;)

I love a good great kilt - SO warm at my MD faire in the late parts.

I'm soooo up for this!! Great job Bro!!! I can see wearing this with our Service C's!

As for yea / nay with armor, I wore my first kilt with armor back in '07 I think it was- works fine, just leave the ab armor off.

The only problem I had was that I was wearing a BDU shirt, instead of the normal black shirt I'd wear with my kilt, and the line below the chestplate stood out if it rode up. That aside, I was well pleased with how the combo looked. totally doing that next year in the parade ;)

So if we can get some kilts made up in this, I'll have the option of black W-Y shirt and grey spirit kilt, or the new tartan with a BDU or Service-C shirt, and the two will blend.

Nice one! :D

So now we need a weaver and someone to design an Ab-Pad/Sporran Combo! ;)

Well, Noble's already making ammo pouches, but that's not exactly a sporran. :)

wait, were supposed to wear underwear at dragon?

@Winch: just tuck the thong part of the webbing behind the ab plate(tape or something temp?) that way the pad is tight at the waist but not the groin

@ Russ: Fucking A Russ, now all we need is a deck of cards

Well if unsure about armour, there`s always the Flak vests ;) though Anubian`s method would work IF your wearing Ab plate.

Yeah, I thought about that way of wearing the ab armor after I posted my original
statement. Seems like it would work fine.

Screaming eagle belt buckle would work, except the original design is vertical while
the belt buckle is horizontal.
