Distorted..? You mean why it's narrow? -- You just made me notice it. I'm actually used to stuff like this, given the amount of letters in my name; my army-issued nametapes have always been made with smaller letters. I'm guessing this was done on purpose... to keep the tape at a respectable lenght.

Imagine if you name was Nahasapeemapetilon?
