The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

here is what i have so far ,the finish is realy poor im afraid my welding isnt up to much i could blame the old stick welder its probably operator error but with the judicious use of body filler and a coat of paint or two that should take care of it . I have to sort out the internals now and fit the trigger section also figure out a way to hold it in place securely then i can weld the two halves together and its another bit ticked off i put mats bolt in to show what it should look like but i need to make my own as i'm hoping i can get it to eject a round pre inserted into the barrel just for shits and giggles, let me know what you think i could do with some sort of feedback, good bad or ugly all the best , Rob

cheers guys im not too happy with the finish but i had to grind off two side supports on the crossbar and it left a lot of marks it came close to me throwing it away and starting again but i think i can cover them up ok. before matt came up with his aluminium powder casting technique what paints were used to give the correct look to the shottie reciever was it just a matt black or was some other combination used :?: ,nick i suppose your the man to speak to you must have painted a few of these in your time here  any ideas would be appreceated folks :?: .thanks once again for your support and kind words ,this is realy turning into an epic for me but i realy am enjoying it if you can believe that, all the best , Rob

here are the latest pics of what i been up to ,i had to restart as the two part reciever was just to hard to line up the internals so i re made it as a one piece and found it much easier to line up the slider rails and loading ports the pics pretty much speak for themselves and the grenades are just a couple i turned up on my wood lathe to make sure everything works properly, the loading slot is now spring loaded to open and close as the shottie is loaded still a lot to do on this before i tidy it up and make it look pretty ,the back of the reciever needs to be cut away and dropped to be right thats next on the list "a very long list" LOL well what do ya think ?

Wow! Only just caught this thread, and am blown away by the craftsmanship that has gone into it! Congratulations, you are a genius!
But, er, the pictures are a little small and I can't see 'em properly, so I will PM you my address so you can send me what you have made so far then I can give you some proper compliments/constructive critisicm. That ok?

thank you all for your kind words this has taken far longer than i originally intended and its great that you have hung on in there with me, oberon you are welcome on my thread any time mate allthough much as i would love to send my finished pieces to you i feel i would be missing out on the deal   nick, always the impatient one :D if i get the time i will pile all the bits together and post a couple of pics for ya ,i think i may do a first full build up using matts shrouds to finish up my build and then in the new year pull them off and make them up in steel then all i need to make is a flamer ,smartgun, etc another ten years or so i should have the set   all the best Rob

here ya go nick as asked all of my parts slung together it gives an idea of what i have so far everything you see in the pictures is hand made by me in steel apart from matts shrouds the thompson grip supplied by nick and a handfull of nuts bolts and a few springs, there is still a long way to go yet i need to finish the 870 sort out a lock mechanism for the stock, attatch everything together and a half decent paint job would help , i just spotted i left the pump grip off  but i got one of those in my box of bits  . i know it looks a bit tatty but its got a long way to go yet. what do ya think :? all the best.
