The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I had the same problem with breaking glas.
Try cuting at the bottom where the metal and ceramic part is and tape the glas part.
Let me see if I can find another bulp and I cut it for you.

You da man, man!
I'll try my hand at cutting soon - let's hope I won't cut the hand.

Saftey first?! Ridiculous...I thought I'm with Marines here? :-)

Well on a more serious note: I would really try to cut a bulb with the lowest setting and wearing gloves and some glasses, or working behind a glass plate (just to be sure)

Pretty much exactly what I did, Loki. But to no avail. No cutting glass with a Dremel for me, not with the stone/metal cutting discs I currently have.
But I'll find a way. For now, the new LED bulb will do the job.

Damn shame...but still, I think it looks great as it is already, you can always improve later on. Maybe with a sharp scalpel or cutter, you can cut around the glass a few times and then break it off.

Now to get a proper ball chain for the dog tags and to decide: open the vintage "Agent Gun"(s) package or not?

Looks great!
Even the hard to find "Agent Gun"s.
Don't forget you need one/two for your M56A2. :)
BTW: Got your Shoulder lamp bulb yesterday.

Yeah, great. BTW, you can see my recent "close enough" LED bulb in the above pic. It does the job but looks off.
The "Secret Agent" guns make me happy. Not something you find every day. All 3 marines from my team now have at least one of these original belt tools.

Thanks

Lucky ebay find. I think we totally depleted the seller, though. His items are all on German soil now! ;)

There were 2 very recently on evilbay. The 'cheaper' one sold for $70 just yesterday (I was 'watching' it, but wasn't the buyer). There is still one where the guy has the stones to ask $250 even though the packaging is chopped up. They do pop up from time to time though. Sometimes they are more affordable than others.

Such a great stash of gear ObiHahn. Said it before and I will say it again. Top notch. As for whether to open them or not...it couldn't hurt to open just one, eh?! In another thread I lamented opening and painting my only original and then felt the urge to reacquire an un-touched one. Heck, with you owning 2 you get best of both worlds. A 'mint' one for collector's purposes and a 'real' one to wear. At least that is my 2cents.

Yeah, I've seen the 250USD one as well, some greek seller. I said NO THANKS to his counter-offer. He does NOT want to sell his torn up, still-in-package "secret Agent" gun.
The other seller we found had enough for our small team, I'll check if he has more and can share the link should he do.

I think that's what I'm gonna do, bigbisont: open one to paint and "use", keep the second one packaged. And thanks for the kind words, much appreciated!

My first patch sample arrived today, not too shabby if I say so myself.

Here's how the print quality (digital print) holds up, and the stitching.

Another step closer. Oh, nevermind the placement on the wrong breast pocket, it's just better than a plain background. :delta:

Do you guys think I have enough belt tools now?

Image

From left to right:
original in package, 2 "Chef" resin casts off of an original, 4-barrel original version, single-barrel original version.

Does anyone have a casting of the singel barrel tip? Would love to swap it on the 4-barrel version,

I might even have found more originals. Bandolier of tools (grenades?) is what I am thinking.

This is a trick or rhetorical question like "do I have enough ammunition?", right? ;)
Great find!

I love how neat your collection is, all arranged like a museum. It's how I try and display my stuff but I keep running out of display cabinets :)

I think you need just one more belt tool ;)......http://www.nickatronprops.co.uk/product ... t-tool-kit

About more belt tools, do you offer casts of just the one barrel tip? Or maybe B-cast where the main body is faulty?

Great Collection! 8)
Yeah, if we only had more space to store all the props.
BTW: Your bulb is done. It's cut, so you could use it with the metal part or only the glass.
