The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

hi all

I see that the "holy bible" here is the "pulse" and the armour set and i think it must be very expensive to have a complete one. :P

Welcome and good luck in your search for the artwork.
There are some talented people here and some great artwork.

And the Pulse and Armor are fantastic ot own, but as expenses go...........it really depends on what is 'expensive' to you. But it is a lot of fun regardless :)

Hey, guys! Just posted a thread about the armor I just got.

Been an Aliens fan since '86 and have been over on the RPF since 1999. So I've been doing the prop and costume thing for some 6 years now.

But this is my first hardcore venture in to the Aliens arena. Been lurking here a bit, though.

So now I have yet another board to keep up with. ;)

Hi everybody,
Michael from Glasgow here.
Got into Aliens when a friend of mine persuaded me to go to Alien War at the Arches, way back in the early 90's. No pulse rifles or armour to be seen, the Colonial Marines were using blank pistols, wearing DPM and manky vests and I'm sure one even had on a pair of Hi-Tec trainers
Didn't matter a jot!!!
It was effing brilliant!!!!
Sooooooo atmospheric and I'm not afraid to admit it, a little scary
It got me hooked, and since then I've been an Aliens fan.
I've just started trying to get Colonial Marines kit together ( if the wife will let me. )
So far I'm the proud owner of a pair of jungle boots, a USCM T-Shirt, A screaming Eagle patch and hopefully by tonight, a pulse rifle and flamer unit. ( Unless I get sniped on E bay :D )
Also with Christmas coming, Santa has my letter requesting a motion tracker :P
I'd appreciate any help you guy's can give a newbie and if they're any UK based clubs etc... I'm up for any info.
Thanks for reading this long winded intro and stay frosty :D
P.S.
Can I just say that MAA has been great in supplying info about BDU's. ( Thanks Steve. )

Edit: I won the auction and I'm now the owner of a pulse rifle and flamer unit... YEEHAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!

Hey Mike

Well you've come to the right place - this is it for USCM fans and Aliens fans alike.

www.colonialmarines.net will give you a list of all marines around the world, including the UK. I think that'll help you in your quest for likeminded individuals
Also links to all accessories and info on the USCM kit

Ofcourse though I'm sure everyone here will chip in where necessary and give you a nudge in the right direction.
Welcome to AL and welcome to the USCM :)

I am currently in the Progress with a fellow member of the Garrison organising an Event to coincide with the 20th Anniversay of Aliens.
As soon as i find my way around this forum ill post details of this event.

Welcome Simon.

It’s my pleasure to invite you to post here.

There are many experts on this forum and I’ve never encountered such a great group of close-knit individuals. I’m sure any plans you have will be greeted with excitement and a willingness to assist.

Hi All,
I have been into prop/costuming for years. I have worked profesionally in the industry doing props in the past and now do it for private collectors. My most recent obsession has been for Predator related pieces but I have been starting to do a sculpture of the Alien head based on the second film.I used to costume with Hi-Impact costuming and used to own one of thier Marines armor sets which got traded for a very high quality Batman muscle suit. I look forward to reading all of the interesting and informative posts here and hope to make many new friends!

Hi my name is Neil, Im from the UK, Midlands to be more precise, always been a sci fi fan! Like mostly Star Wars (Im a trooper in the UKG), Matrix, Aliens, SG1 etc. I enjoy making my own prop bits and bobs. In the last couple of years got into making amatuer films, that is making myself with the help of some good friends (Tony RB for one!) and helping/starring in others too. All great fun and a huge learning curve! Looking for a new challenge so the USCM gear took my fancy. Hoping to find just what Im looking for in this forum, and Im sure I will!!
Cheers!!

Welcome all :D

Can I just bring your attention to our Archive section at the bottom of the main page and FAQ rules within it. It holds a wealth of material and is well worth a look.
