The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

There was space reserved for 3 digits, but not used as the M56 is a smartgun with a Display in the SG headset.

Well, I got motivated yesterday and assembled my ammo counter kit.
lots of little components, and wires and tons of solder !!
Looked so easy on the instructions ! :O
but amazingly, it does work ! But since it is designed for a M41a
it only goes as high as 99 :S
Now I need to mount it into the ammo drum !!! :O

Okay Marines!
It's time to get up to speed again !
So today I present the ammo counter for my Smarty!
It is built from a kit sold by TML, and is intended for a pulse rifle-
but my PR already has a counter, so this one is going into my smarty ammo drum -
LOTs and Lots of tedious soldering here, folks ! Don't try this unless you have
nerves of steel , the hands of midget jeweler, and the patience of a saint ! :D

My next trick will be trying to fit it all into the ammo drum !!!! :O

Every few months I peek in on the "Eye-Top" LCD market to see where it's at, hehe. Eventually, someone's going to make an easily available screen with the right focal length for an eyepiece like ours, and it's gonna be "Game on, Man, game on".

By that point, I imagine finding an inexpensive camera that will fit inside the targeting block on the gun will be a piece of cake.

The standard cheap Pinhole cameras fit into the IR camera part and connect well to the Eyetop.
It is no fun to put the Eyetop Monitor into the SG headset.
It doesnt look SA, but it's working.

No, I have not flown off to LV426 -
We did however have a near miss with a tornado about 4 weeks ago
which body-slammed my antenna tower,
and so my internet antenna ( which was on top of said tower ) is also toast -
so it might be a few more weeks before you get to see any more
smarty pix ! :(
new tower parts are here, but I need a free weekend to get it all up
onto my roof top, and then get it all bolted down.
Then my ISP needs to come out and place and aim new antenna
and run a new ethernet cable. :(

:S

New tower is up, antenna is mounted, and aligned!
We are re-connected to the Sulacco ! ( Joy! )

So now I can show you what I did while I was off-line for 8 weeks !!

I finally got motivated and cut out and trimmed all those lovely bits
of vaccuum formed abs plastic I bought from Golden Armour a couple
years ago !! Wow, that was a lot more time and effort than it looked
like it was going to be !!! But now they are all cut out and cleaned up !

So my next mission is to laminate them ( On the inside, thanks much ! )
with one layup of Carbon Fiber, and one layup of Kevlar ! using West
Marine 2-part Epoxy system, instead of plain old polyester resin !

so is this the accepted spot for mounting said data plate ? ? ?

looks like it is just below the port on the right side where spent
disintegrating belt links were ejected -

That's a good spot just below the "heat exchange for the caseless amo." ;)
