The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

you dont say if stephan is still an active member ,if he is and sees this or someone is in contact with him could you let him know if its ok to use his stuff on my build

great work on your Thompson  this reminds me on my own alu milled upper & lower for my PR.

Of course you can use the plans - I don`t have any patents pending

Here are some images of the 870 alu dummy :

http://props.steinschneider.com/pulser/ ... tom_01.htm

the function is that the shell feeder ramp is going up`n down as on a real Remington - can`t transport shells but I guess you are the right man to do this :)

feel free to ask about anything.

Ahoi,
Stephan

PS: if you can cut the bolt handle a bit - it seems a bit too long IMO

Thanks stephan ,what a wealth of information :D wish i had seen this before i started my build  , I think its only right if your going to use or adapt someone elses work for your own use that you should ask permission where ever possible, and i appreciate you getting back to me ,i was concerned about the bolt its to small in diameter as well as too long but i can only work with what i can get and easily modify, my tool kit is realy basic so i cut down a bolt to make mine as the easiest and simplest soloution, there is no problem with shortening it couple of mins with a hacksaw,as with most people on here i think whatever they make becomes a permanent work in progress ,once i have a finished rifle i can change /modify and play about with it forever untill i have it where i want it , this is my first attempt at anything like this and its been a steep learning curve ,teaching myself how to weld has been a fun experience "i have the scars to prove it" thanks once again for the reply and i will drop you a line when i start on my GL, i need all the help i can get  cheers mate ,Rob

you did truly an amazing job with your build-up - I still admire your welding skills which I don`t have. Hut ab !

it`s easier to me to mill a whole lower out of a fat alu block LOL

I`d be happy to help you out.

maybe watch out for a M870 trigger assy yet - if you wanna scratch-build it I can help you out with measurements of a real one.

Keep up the excellent work !

Stephan
