The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Have you thought about making this into a PFC model gun? Youre halfway there already.

Looking good.

had to look up PFC  would be nice
but i dont know the legalities of that in the uk "as with most things over here its probably NO" but it would be great to have a go at it and orange or not i dont know if they would let me finish it in my cell :? as i said in previous posts i wanted to do an eject on my rifle but after a lot of thaught i have decided agains it as i and apparently a few others think it will be too real and cause problems legally ,maybe at a later date when the terrorism and gun crime paranoia in the uk fade into memory and if i live long enough  i will add it to my rifle its all worked out just needs fitting, but i thank you for your kind words mate all the best , Rob

are you going to build a remmington look alike to go inside the

Jester,

If you're not hung up on requiring that the GL actually look like a
real M870 shotgun, I have plans from a board member showing
how he scratch built a replica from pipe and similar techniques like
you're doing now. I can post them if you think it would help.

That moving bolt looks really nice.

I continue to be wowed by and jealous of your scratch building skills with metal!!

Tom did a pretty cool scratch build GL pump actuator thingy with hardware store parts that looked interesting too, and he said it even sounded like a shotgun being racked a little.

Sorry, but I've been busy with life the last week or so.

Man that baby looks great. Just to take on this task. I'm just speechless.

Just a quick suggestion. If you want to make sure you have eliminated all the small scratches before you paint it. I would lightly dust the primer with black primer as a guide coat, and then dry sand it with 400 or 600. I do that to all my painted props, and it makes a big difference. Its amazing the small scratches and imperfections you can miss.

Thank you kevin and myron ,its a bugger how real life keeps gettin in the way of the important stuff :D I dont want to be to perfect with the paint job as the "used and abused" look seems to be the way to go with the pulse rifle so i am not being to carefull about the paint job as its gonna be distressed ,the advantage of building in steel is i dont have to dry brush silver paint just scrape it off and give a quick spray with lacquer to reveal the steely goodness underneath  ,as a point of interest in my last pics you can now see the pin i welded onto the trigger to get the "close on half cock" to work, i thank you all and cant tell you how great it feels that my first attempt at this sort of thing has been so well received by long standing and far more skilled people than I , all the best , Rob
ps,, putting the top coats on today so will have finished pics up by tonight i hope.

Very well done, that's work to be proud of!
