Glad I'm not the only one. Well, I went and asked Matt if he could paint the Pulse Rifle shroud in Brown Bess or it's equivalent (I bought a built and painted kit). He pretty much said it wouldn't be a problem. So my PR should look like everyone elses, now. I'll save the all-black PR for my next big Aliens purchase (after the BDUs, armor, shoulder lamp and Smart Gun).

I like to imagine the M41-A as a modular weapon. Like the XM8. You can swap shrouds (black, brown bess, or tan depending on the environment). Probably swap out barrels, etc. So I'd like to have three PRs (one with each color shroud). Maybe I can just buy two more shrouds (black and tan) and interchange them. Whatever I can do to get more stuff.

I still favor OD Green for the shrouds. I'm personally not a fan of Brown Bess on shrouds.

heh, my shroud should sorta please you then, as it's half BB and half OD Krylon. Had to do some emergency repainting after my last set of upgrades chipped through the fifty layers of paint GEM had on that bad boy, and Krylon was all I had.

I just finished modifying my TM thompson aith G&P conversion kit.

I added a real Spas cage and a Maruzen M870 BV shotgun.

I had a new metal stock from Phil S and a custom made barrel triangle. I also got the small u shaped piece of plastic that holds the stock stoper in place remade in metal as the plastic one broke.

Hey Darren! That's a really awesome modded PR. Does the all metal stock work with the existing G&p guide rails or did you leave them out?

That u shaped piece is prone to breaking. I should have replaced mine with metal too. Instead I reinforced it.

I have some smaller m40 shells, so I used one of those instead of the movie sized ones. I don't think those would actually be able to cycle through the ejection port.

Hi Dave

I had to drill some new holes for the different stock positions but I didn't need the guide lines as the battery cables no longer come up through the top of the receiver.

I like what you've done with yours also it's looking very mean. The SA grenade makes such a difference to the overall look.

Someone over on SFM said that they were having some grenades made that would cycle through the M870 but I need to fix my shell carrier problem first.

I got 3 shells from Stephen210 and they are suppose to be the ones that can cycle through the 870. But since I'm using just the G&P spas cage I put one inside.

So if your cables are not coming out the upper receiver, then where are you hiding the battery?

Quick answer, I'm not hiding it anywhere. The battery cannot fit inside ANYWHERE. I spent ages looking at it and looking at it but there is just nowhere to put it.
I finally decided that it didn't matter anyway. When I take the gun to a convention I'm not going to be firing it obviously so I won't need a battery. If I go skirmishing with it then I simply attach the battery to the connector which is now coming out of the bottom of the reciever and then strap the battery to the gun. It doesn't matter to me if the gun doesn't look screen accurate when skirmishing.
To that end I also added a gas inlet valve on the side of the gun (opposite side to the counter). Again at a convention no gas is needed and when skirmishing it doesn't matter to me if there is a gas tube going into the side of the gun. As I am right handed this valve is toward my body so most people won't even notice it.

Alex and Mnoble inspired me to make a mag cover for my hi-cap mag. I used scrap styrene and my trusty heat gun. It just slides over the mag and the bottom ridge prevents it from falling off which makes it interchangable.

Sorry Alex! Didn't mean to hijack your design. I actually saw your pics today, which is why I built one this afternoon. Was gonna pester Matt, but he's got enough on his plate already with the regular bases.

Unlike your bad-ass self , I'm only gonna use one base and switch out with the mags.

Hi im quite new to the board, but my love for this awsome weapon is just as big as yours!

What did you do about those misplaced sling brackets on the other side?

The sling brackets are still there, but they dont bother me much. I have my PR on a wallrack so you cant see them.

The repaint has made it look so so so much better.

Quick question: Anyone know the caliber of the pulse rifle?

Is the Thompson sitting in the shroud properly as it looks like it is too far to the right. It should all sit a bit more to the left inside the shroud.

Whose shroud is that btw?

I take it that's a TM Thompson. Are you gonna keep it functional or go for something with light and sound?

I am torn, I had thought about a high tech electronics package. I have always wanted to include a green (visable) laser in a prop gun. Plus I have the hyperdyne, sound and light.
My M1 is actually my brothers, but it's not working. So I gave him my MP5, and possesion is 9/10ths:P

So I am leaning toward a very accurate working airsoft PR. I think Matt is having a flood sale:roll:

Yeah I've been trying to keep to just one PR that is functional and yet still good for conventions. I have realised however that it just isn't feasible. The weight of the working PR is a bugger to carry around all day at a con and there is just no more room inside for any electronics. So I am thinking of a 2nd PR now which I still want to be as accurate as my other one but just be lighter and have sound and lights.

Let us know what you decide.
