The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hey Rob,

I'll probably take you up on your offer, but part of the fun of this for me is actually searching and finding the items too.

So where did you get those rings? Hardware store? Leathercraft shop?

(Don't get me wrong- I truly appreciate the offer. I just feel like I want to continue to look for them myself for the moment. There is a certain satisfaction in finding an obscure item after a lengthy search.)

eBay, I can send you a link.
I already had the white leather, if anyone is interested I have a bunch of these and I don't know what to do with them.

I'll count them up tonight.

Zipper on the "top" of the pocket. I made them sort of like a box, about 2 1/2" deep. I don't remember the w/h dimensions off the top of my head but I think it was about 6"x8". They had zippers in the movie as well.

Got back to my crew uniform project and began working on my Mk 3 again. It started out as a late model green jacket, and I've been dying it to achieve a nice Nostromo-esque hue... The other day, I dyed it with a plum-coloured dye and was kind of happy with the colour itself, though jacket was now way too dark. So I threw it in a bucket of bleach and let sit for 15 minutes... the result was a nicely faded jacket, a bit unevenly bleached in spots, but I'm kinda happy with the outcome anyway:

Left: after latest dye job, right: after bleaching

Now I'm just going to remove (most parts) of the net liner, then it's sewing time!

I love wearing my Nostromo uniform. I also love that with every convention our numbers grow. It's a sci-fi costume with lots of pockets that is comfortable. What more could one want? Here's a bunch of us in February of this year.

Sweet pics! Would like to see more 'Stromo uniforms up here in Sweden too...
Made the final dye job to jacket the other day. Achieved a grey-greenish colour that will have to do. Next up - sewing laces and patches...

Getting there slowly...

My Nostromo stuff. The shirt and pants are fairly screen accurate (I'd say about 90%), but the jacket isn't it. I like my custom bits :)
