The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hello all. My name is Charlie, and I've started work on a Colonial Marine costume. I've done a lot of prop work with the 501st and the Mercs. I've been kicking around the idea of a new project for a while, and after seeing the matrix PR I finally got authorization from my wife to start up. I'm in my planning phase now (although I went ahead and ordered the PR, can't wait to get a chance to weather that). After building an ESB Boba Fett I've pretty much lost all the thrill of going screen accurate and just tend to model elements I think are fun. :) I got directed here from the therpf.com for more insight into tips and tricks on the marine build. I'm looking forward to getting some good info and if I'm very lucky seeing it debuted for Dragon*Con 2013.

Charlie

Hello everybody. My name is Avery. I am planning to sign up on the colonial marines charter and applying for a service number when my armor comes in. I can't exactly remember when I first saw the film, but I do remember it being great. Also, I am into some pretty wierd stuff, like Anime and Anthropomorphic "furry" artwork. Other than that, Im not too active, but I will post on occasion. That's basically it.

Checking in: New to the board...
- Saw Alien the night it premiered. Still have the program. Awesome stuff
- Prior experience - 4 yrs USNSCC in high school, basic and two cruises. USMC DI's.
- 7 years WWII reenacting, Capt of my Glider Infantry outfit - C/401 GIR, 101st ABN DIV (reenacted) WWIIHRS
- Confirmed gearhead and gadget guy (Cars, guns, guitars). If you can describe it, I can build it. Halloween costumes were big in my house.
- Consider Aliens to be the peak of the franchise. Action + Aliens = can't miss.
- This brings together multiple things I enjoy.

Hi Guys, I'm Steve,

Been advised to join for more costume resources after meeting a Marine at the London Comic Con two weeks back (didn't get his handle).

Have been researching into putting together USCM armour and accessories for about a year now, and this certainly seems to be the place with the info! I am a very regular Airsofter with a friend and my girlfriend, and we always get a lot of attention at our local urban site when we pull out the pulse rifles. Currently all we have is the Polish BDUs and badging, now looking to take it further with 3 lots of Spat Armour (one Recon for the missus), motion trackers and other bits to complete the look. Looking forward to learning more about the community!

Greetings marines! I'm Gwen and I've been a huge Aliens fan since seeing the film premier in the theater when I was a medic in the USAF. I've been doing conventions, costuming, and prop making since the mid 70's and I am now finally getting around to putting together a Colonial Marines outfit thanks to some hard work and a little help from Spat.

I currently have a Snow Wolf pulse rifle that I have done quite a few mods to (blowback, my own custom mag bases, adding working grenade launcher trigger and replacing shotgun shell with an M40 grenade, as well as a new stainless barrel and several performance/reliability improvements to the gearbox). I also have a KJW full metal gas blowback Colt 1911. Oh and I played paintball for years and am now getting into airsoft, so if there are other USCM types doing airsoft in the SF Bay area give me a yell =) I also study Muso jikiden Eishin ryu Iaido... now if I can just find myself an acid-proof katana I'll be set...

Glad to be here!

Gwen

Hello Marines!

I'm an Alien/Aliens fan from the beginning. I've enjoyed the entire franchise from movies, comics and games, but Aliens has always been my absolute favorite. I'm a veteran costumer and prop builder from the 501st and always wanted to be a part of the USCM. I have recently been building some Alien models including a sweet facehugger. I always wanted a pulse rifle and a few months ago saw a thread on the RPF about the new Evike PR and had to get in on it. So I bought one and decided I would love to convert it to be a bit more movie-like. A friend directed me to this board and here I am. I've seen some great threads on here about modifying the PRs and have been truly inspired. My armor and some accessories are on order and thanks to Charlie's and others posts about breaking that PR down I am ready to get started! I am enjoying this board immensely and look forward to being part of this bad ass community!

-Dan
