The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I really want to get this, but I already have an Aliens hive attack Ripley...running out of space...

But seriously, who's down for a Burke figure? Right? Right?

Yeh Burke would be a good fig to have, he's important enough to the story to warrant too

Great solution to the whole SDCC situation! Plus a new sculpt for Ripley. Instabuy!

My only complaint is that I had my fingers crossed for a "leather jacket" Ripley to be paired in a 2-pack with Newt.

With the packaging and chosing to recreate the poster it all makes perfect sense to do it this way, but now I need to get yet another Ripley (I already had multiples). The new head will soften the blow I guess.

Finally got my Vaz(s) and Frost today. Vaz is a work of art. Minor details could have been better for accuracy, but overall WOW. Nearly perfect and just a major accomplishment of a figure. I got an extra to strip her down into a "final ops battle" version with a plan to use the extra smartgun to build a custom Drake.

Just a side note, Vaz's tank top is sculpted into the body. It isn't fully painted, so if you want the 'briefing' look, some mild painting and scrape work will be all that is necessary for the body. A ton of work needs to be done to her head though. LOTS of filling and maybe light sculpting. The BDU shirt portion is borderline unusable. Making an 'ops battle' vaz will be difficult...but not impossible!

Frost is solid. The painted face doesn't work quite as well as the molded faces used for Ripley and Vaz. Paint is a bit caked on. The fact they just recycled the windrix body and didn't bother to give him correct sleaves vexes me just a tiny bit. I may fix that with some surgery.

In a bit of a twist, check his grafitti on his back. 100% NOT screen accurate, so it must have been requested by Ricco. Maybe the face on the continent of Africa is his wife's face (to cancel out the tribute to a long forgotten 'Heather' on the front??  )

Google reveals the ARNJMM to be an astrological thing...

Non-accurate graffiti.

*sigh*

I hope there is a way it can be removed without screwing up the armor paint job.

Don't think so. From my efforts to remove Hicks/Hudson graffiti on past customs, I have not been able to figure out a way that doesn't require repainting in the camo.

Is the armor painted the same on all the armored figures?

If so, maybe the back of one with less or no artwork could be scanned and turned into a decal. Place the decal over the graffiti and presto!

So on Vasquez: I finally figured out how to attach the steadycam arm to her vest and SmartGun, but there's a loose wire that I'm unsure about. It comes out of the gun side, but where does it connect to?

Is it the two they have glued together? I theory one wire should go to the headset on the right side, but the other should go into the 'computer' behind the chest plate I think. Not sure why they molded them permanently together. I just stuffed the lot under the chest plate.

Yeah, that confused me too. Can either of you post pictures of how you did the wiring?

And why did they give Frost the mid-foot articulation, but not Vasquez?

Also, the shin armor on Frosts leg looks like it wasn't finished being painted. >:(

Complicating things is the fact that apparently some of the vasquezs were packed with the 'arm' for the smartgun...backwards. They have the battery side of the cable on the inside where it connects to the vest and the 2 'loose' cables near the gun connector portion. If you got a backwards one, then you have to un-clip the arm from the end pieces and flip them. (if that makes sense).

I'll try to get a pic

I should know this, I've only been looking over pictures of their gear for like 25+ years!

I also spotted Frosts helmet camera is the wrong color. It's black instead of BB.

I'm really excited about the Hicks and Hudson two pack as I chopped both of mine up to make a custom vanity fig. I was actually just sifting through the remains to see what I could salvage. This takes the pressure off.

On twitter NECA has stated they are exploring the possibility of using the flesh color plastic (like they did with Vaz, Ripley, Arnold, Rambo, and Mr. T) on the re-releases of Hicks and Hudson instead of painted faces.

If that happens, I would be both excited and infuriated. Having already dumped cash into multiple figures of both guys, seeing them rendered obsolete would be maddening, but man I would def like to see the improvement over that sloppy paint. Would be 'must own' for sure.

I'd rather they re-sculpted Hicks, looks more like Barry Pepper than Biehn.
