The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hi. I'm Patrick. I met a bunch of USCM folks this weekend at Dragon Con, and I was really impressed with y'all. I bought myself a patch set this weekend, and I'm in the process of tracking down BDU's.

I've been a fan of the Aliens series for years now. I can't wait to suit up for next year!

So I guess I should do this too, never been very good at the using my words thing, but...

My name is Eric Hokanson, I live in Sylva which is on the Western tip of North Carolina. Born in Miami, early childhood in the Florida keys, then up to Lake Worth area, then to NC. Married, have two boys (7 and 3).

I am the Eric from Polymer Armory (although you have probably put that together being my screen name and all) I've been making Republic Commando armor for the 501st for about 7 years now, along with blasters and other molding/casting projects. In the past have done Appleseed, mutiple Star Wars costumes, and others, I think.

Been wanting to make the Colonial Marine armor for quite some time now, and about two month ago said it's now or never. So I worked kind of long hours for about a month and then totally neglected my family for another month and finished two armors and shoulder lamps for Dragon*Con, plus have the parts for motion trackers, and several other C.M. bits.

I believe I am rambling at this point, but, I do hope to be an asset to this group. And am willing to help out in anyway I can, just ask.

Thanks,
Eric

Hey guys, I've always been aware of this board but never joined. I'm a member over at AXP and AvP Galaxy, my name on those boards is simple "Hudson."

My name is John, I'm from Champaign, Illinois; I'm 23 years old. I just got out of the Marines after 4 years and I'm now an English student at UIUC. Aliens has been my favorite film for my entire life.

I was inspired to register here because I went to the HorrorHound Weekend convention in Indianapolis this weekend. I was on cloud 9, so awesome to meet 7 actors from Aliens, get autographs and pictures with all of them, AND actually carry on some really interesting conversations with them. I met someone at the event dressed as a Colonial Marine and I'm seriously considering trying to round up the items to complete a costume myself. I feel like this is probably the best jumping off place and it seems like a really cool community.

Here are my favorite two pictures, both from this morning. These guys were so damn awesome!

I said let's pretend like we're shooting Aliens with smartguns:

I asked them to reenact the scene from the film:

Hi everyone!

Been lurking/researching for years, finally pulled the trigger and joined. I live near Minneapolis, MN and I'm a Dragon*Con regular, mostly been involved in Star Trek and Battlestar Galatica costuming. I'm a very active member of The Colonial Fleet (BSG fandom).

Finally in a position where I can afford to do some more advanced cosplay, so I'm working on Colonial Marines armor for next D*C. Starting out with a Pulse Rifle, just commissioned one from Matsucorp. Matt's stuff is killer! His pulse rifles have always been awesome, and if you haven't seen his newest version of the smart gun yet prepared to be blown away. Next up for me is armor and bdus.

Looking forward to getting my outfit together and hanging with y'all!

Thanks. Now that I know how fun the convention experience can be (even without friends or a costume) I'm definitely prepared to commit to more.
