The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

omg back in ninth grade my earth science teacher was a big scfif fan (had a bunch of miniatures aroudn teh classroom, one day i was looking at them and noticed a minature sulaco and nostromo) so one day he had just finished explaing the lab to the class and asked if therer were questions. guess what i did! hand shot straight up "how do i get out of this chicken shit outfit?" shocked everyone in the class, but the teacher just laughed and and gave the appropriate responce. naturaly he took me aside after clas and told me o never do that again, but it was so great.lol oh man mr gluck where ever you are i hope you enjoy your retirement.lol

Hi all,

My name's Woody.
I have many interests of the slightly unusual kind. One of those being enthusiasm for deeply detailed movies, like Aliens.

Blade Runner and Lord Of The Rings would be other examples, for the sheer amount of background and detail in what we see. Logos everywhere, whole pages of proper text on a subject in a magazine that appears briefly, blurred into the background......

I found the forum because I was Googling how the hell they get 95 rounds of 10mm in such a small magazine. That and because I want a working Motion Tracker!!

Catch you around,
W.

Wotcha folks.
Been lurking here awhile and been enjoying the various topics.
Right now, i'm more interested in the prop making rather than the costuming and the info found here is in equal shares amazing and inspiring. I do a lot of SF and fantasy modelling and sculpting and this here site is getting me tempted to try some 1/1 projects rather than the usual 1/6th or 1/4.
There's another reason for joining up here and, hopefully, it won't be TOO long before i can say what it is.
Don't want to say any more right now for fear of tempting fate, but when there's a positive development i'll let you know straight away (oooo, ain't i enigmatic?).

Hi Mm.

Intriguing. Is this a "big thing" or something personal to you that might interest us? ;)

BTW, what Alien is that in your avatar? Looks like a full size statue but I don't recognise it.

Hi there everyone. Just seen there is a welcome thread, so here I am ( a few days late!).
Been a member of the Hunters Lair for a while and was sold a G&P PR kit from a fellow joint member there and came here to tap into the experience and knowledge found here on how to build them.
I look forward to emptying my wallet here too! Am just glad there seems to be more UK members here, so not as much overseas postage and customs to worry about!

:P

Welcome back matey! We moved forum software Mid-2007 and everyone had to re-register. If you'd like to be renamed to Pezmeister, let me know.
